Overrated, overpriced, and stereoptical tourist trap.
Once we finally got seated we asked for coffee and they told us we could physically go next door to their sister coffee shop and get one đ And the way it was communicated was so condescending as if that was even remotely normal.
The food was fine - nothing to write home about. When the check came we were splitting it with another couple. The tip prompt was to add 20% but based on the entire total. I adjusted to add 20% for our portion and watched the waiter walk away shaking his head. The entitlement to think anything he did during the meal warranted a 40% tip is insane. He wanted to double-dip on both checks. Go fool somebody else.

$18 Roast Beef Sandwich -- It arrived smothered in what looked like mayonnaise as I could not see the bun. It tasted like a classic tartar sauce -- nothing like the menu says: jalapeño-horseradish crema. No jalapeño and no horseradish.....just mayo that taste like tarter sauce. It was so smothered you could not pick it up without getting slimed with the mayo. So you scrape the meat out of the bun and eat it like that. As far as I could tell there was no fried onions and who knows if it was Texas Akaushi beef...as that would be a waste. It was IMHO a terrible sandwich.

We had such a lovely experience having dinner at Hill + Vine while visiting Fredericksburg that we went back for a second dinner before our trip ended! We received such a warm greeting when we entered, our waiter was so delightful and the food was great! It's often difficult to find delicious entrees, other than a salad, when you don't eat meat. There were several great choices on their menu for me! We dined inside due to rain, but when we went back the second time the weather was lovely for eating on their spacious patio. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Great food and drinks! We had the Burrata con Tejas app. It was delicious! For our meals we had the burger and the BLTA. Amazing! The drinks were by far the best drinks we have had all weekend. I recommend the Gin & Jam or the Mint Condition. Great place!

On 11/18 we brought some friends to Hill and Vine, excited to introduce them to a place weâve enjoyed. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by how our server, F. D. treated us. We sat on the patio so we could bring our dog, and we brought our own bowl and a bottle of water for him. Before I could even pour the water, the server rushed over and sharply told us, âYou canât have that out here,â in a tone that felt more like scolding children than speaking to customers.
Later, when the check arrived, she brought two receiptsâone for us and one for our friends. Iâm 65 and wasnât wearing my hearing aids, and since she was standing on the opposite side of the table, all I heard was the word âreceipt.â When I mistakenly handed her ours, she became visibly irritated and responded with a condescending, âI donât need your receipt. Do you want a receipt?â It was embarrassing, especially in front of our friends. She then handed the card reader across the table to me as if we were in a bar, not a restaurant.
If youâre an older customer or someone with hearing challenges, I would not recommend this restaurant based on the way we were treated.

We went here after another restaurant wasn't serving food at 415 in the afternoon?! And, man, I'm glad we did! The atmosphere is great, we sat outside because it was beautiful out. The waitress was just lovely and helpful. Ok, the food... Gyaattt! The sweet cornbread and bacon onion jam is among the best things I've ever eaten. The chicken sandwich was incredible and my wife said her salad with the tri tip was delicious. Overall, everything was a 10/10. Will definitely return next time we're in Fredericksburg. Also they were very good about food allergies.

Disappointing Experience After a Promising Start
We were really looking forward to visiting this restaurant, and the evening started off strong. The atmosphere was charming, and although we were quoted a 1.5-hour wait, the staff encouraged us to enjoy drinks at their outdoor drink van or indoor bar. My husband and I tried the pre-mixed old fashioned, and our friends ordered a bottle of champagne to enjoy while we waited. The music and vibe made the time pass quickly, and we were excited when our table was finally ready.
During dinner, we attempted to order another bottle of sparkling wine, and instead, someone approached the table to inform us we would no longer be served because we were âoverly intoxicated.â We were stunned. We asked for our check, (maybe premature, but we were shocked) and our server made it clear she assumed she wouldnât be tipped.  She literally âdroppedâ the check so it bounced off our table, and her attitude took a complete 180 from when she happily sold us on apps and drinks upon greeting us.
What began as a great night turned into a very disappointing experience â not only due to the service breakdown, but the false accusation and unprofessional treatment. We were genuinely excited to try this place, but unfortunately left frustrated and unimpressed.
