Drove 4 hours for this place! Worth the drive.

So, I am originally from California. I recently moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and I had been craving some Japanese Curry. I haven't seen any many options here. When I found out they had a CoCo Ichibanya in Dallas I knew I had to go. Planned my trip and headed out. When I arrived parking wasn't an issue. Booked in advance through yelp but wasn't really needed for that day. They had good customer service and food came out quickly. The food was delicious and brought back good memories from all the times I had gone to CoCo back home. For those that haven't tried it, I recommend you give it a shot, even if you don't like spicy food. There is an option for everyone. Plan to come back soon.

Compared to Okinawa, this isnt the same. We came 6 hrs for a taste of Japan again and were disappointed. The curry was dark, and soupy. The naan was not at all the same. The chicken was thin with very little actual chicken. Super spicy despite a low level. Don't come here expecting the same as the original. The staff was amazing though. Very attentive.

I tried CoCo Ichibanya in Frisco for the first time, having eaten their curry katsu all the time during my past visits to Japan. The curry here is just as tasty as in Japan, so the quality is impressively consistent! Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Japanese curry.

Wonderful! I came from Japan a couple of weeks ago I was so happy to see CoCo Ichibanya as I missed food back home.

The food tasted amazing and just like home, and it was ready very fast. I got the pork cutlet with natto!

Although the food was very good, I was most impressed with the service. I came on a weekday and expected it to be empty, but there were so many people! I mention that because I only saw 2 waiters on duty, but they were efficiently helping everyone!! Compared to the other restaurants I tried in my time in Texas, Coco Ichibanya had less waiters, but the BEST service.

I especially want to express my gratitude to a young man with long hair, glasses, and braces. I regret not asking for his name, but he was the highlight of our experience. Although he was visibly busy with a lot of things to do, he helped us with patience and a smile. We had a lot of questions and he gently answered all of them even when there was a language barrier struggle. The best part was when my mother mistakenly asked him question in Japanese and he responded in Japanese as well!!! He was very quick and didn't waste anyone time when something was needed. He reminded me of the service back home in Japan.

Overall Coco Ichibanya was a great experience and we hope to come back during our next trip to Texas!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Coco Ichibanya in Frisco was life-changing. I’ve had curry before, but NOTHING compares to the flavors here. The richness, the spice level, the texture, every bite was absolute perfection. You can customize everything to exactly how you want it, and it feels like they’re making it just for you.

The service was just as amazing as the food. The staff was kind, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. They checked on us often without hovering, and they explained the menu with so much care, it felt like we were being welcomed into a family tradition.

I left already planning my next visit. If you’ve never had Japanese curry, go. If you think you’ve had good curry, go. This place will ruin other curry spots for you, in the best way.

The Truth

The food here is pretty good and the prices are somewhat reasonable. Friendly service when I'm there as well.

I initially took a star because their takeout system was terrible. They don't allow call in orders, and didn't have online ordering except through Uber Eats/Doordash.

Their reasoning for this is that they can't charge people before they pick their food up. That doesn't sit right with me, them assuming the worst of their patrons. 95% of restaurants can accommodate online/phone ordering!

Well they added online ordering, and it looks like every dish is 30-50% more expensive than the menu states. A chicken omelette curry is NOT worth $25, y'all must be tweakin.

Definitely a skip for me. Nothing was impressive and not worth the hype.

GO EAT HERE.

My wife and I met in Japan, and this was a go-to spot for us. I cannot put into words how excited I am there is a CoCo’s in DFW. This is truly the number one store for us. The service at this location lives up to the legacy of the Japanese locations we went to for years. It is the most authentic experience and we LOVE going here. We plan things in and around Frisco just so we have an excuse to go. We don’t live in Frisco, but we picked our doctor, dentist, and daycare based off of this store so we could go more often. WE LOVE COCO’s!!!

The service is fantastic and fast and the food is soooo good. Our server has been Travis a lot of the time and he is always a stellar representative and provides outstanding service.

I came across this place based on a DFW influencer on TikTok. I found out this is the most popular Japanese curry house in the world, with only 6 locations in the US, 5 in CA and this one in Frisco. When you walk in there is no mistaking what you came for. Happily, smells are free! We were seated immediately. The space is small, it holds 64 people for dining. They had a communal bar in front of the kitchen which was cool. The main thing was the service. I have never seen so many busy people working the floor. My water never went below 3/4 full. You don’t have a designated waitperson, the staff works all the tables. Management was out on floor working as well. That all to say, the food was tremendous!
