I had such a wonderful experience last Friday!

From the moment we sat down, Zoe took incredible care of us. She was on top of everything all night!! Attentive, friendly, and genuinely kind. What really stood out was how knowledgeable she was about the entire menu, including the drinks. She answered every question with confidence and made recommendations that were absolutely spot on. Every single thing she suggested was amazing!
And of course, the sushi itself deserves major praise. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the texture was perfect!! It was tender, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. You can truly tell they use high quality ingredients and put care into every roll.

I highly recommend the bulgogi cracker, the volcano scallops, and the shaggy dog roll — they were absolutely delicious! Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of their sushi choices.

Between the outstanding service from Zoe and the exceptional food, this place easily earns five stars. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Dinner at Sake Toro Sushi in Downtown Frisco feels like you accidentally wandered into a Tokyo side street but still parked five minutes from H-E-B. The vibe is sleek without being try-hard, and the sushi? Locked in.

We started with the Shaggy Dog Roll—tempura shrimp, cream cheese, crab mix, spicy mayo doing its chaotic good thing. Zero regrets. The Frisco Roll is basically the overachiever of the menu: fresh, balanced, just enough sauce to flex but not drown the fish. And if you’re even mildly into sashimi, the Salmon Sashimi is clean, buttery, and sliced like someone actually respects the fish.

Hot take: don’t skip the Gyoza. Crispy bottoms, juicy center, no sad freezer vibes.

Everything tasted intentional. Nothing felt phoned in. Service was fast without rushing us, which is a delicate art form in suburban dining.

It’s the kind of spot where you say, “Let’s just grab sushi,” and two hours later you’re debating ordering one more roll because self-control is a myth. Downtown Frisco needed this.

The past two times I’ve been here I’ve been ignored for 30-45 minutes and had to flag our waiter to take our order. Today when I tried to get someone’s attention they ignored us but attended to other tables. The sushi is GREAT but the servers could definitely be better; ignoring and messing up orders is very common through all the servers.

I visited here for the second time few weeks ago. It was busy for a weekday evening, but Hellen took great care of us. She was very attentive to my husband’s gluten free needs and even made a special gluten free salad dressing, which was amazing. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great, though the dishes came out a bit late.

+ We visited again a few days ago with good memories, and although the service was still not bad, the food took far too long to come out. It felt even slower than our previous visit, which was very disappointing.

So glad we didn't listen to the odd couple of negative reviews! This restaurant is incredible and a true hidden gem. We moved to the area 4 months ago and eat here for a dinner date every single week. The staff remember us well and we love all the servers- there isn't one that doesn't provide top notch service.

The food is very fresh, the sushi ranges from authentic options to more westernized cooked rolls with all the unique flavors you can think of. The ONLY valid complaint some of the negative Nancy's have listed is in regards to the food taking a bit to come out but we've noticed that's because they are making everything as you order. Nothing is prepared ahead of time and we have come to love that about them. For example their salmon teriyaki (highly reccomend) will take longer than fresh sushi rolls. We're used to this now and will order our raw sushi as an appetizer and share the salmon filet for a main entree knowing they are cooking it and it takes time. The food is SO fresh, it's worth the wait.

Overall this spot is charming (quiet piano music and date night ambiance on the weekend evenings) and always full but never loud. Very happy to have found our signature sushi spot.

Order came out completely mixed. Staff said fish was “fresh” but def wasn’t. Think we caught it on a bad day.

Hot wine, warm sushi, terrible service.

Visited Sake Toro on Friday 11/14 at around 7pm with no reservation. We were surprised to be seated right away, and even more surprised that it was half empty.

Waited 10-15 minutes before I asked if we had a server. We had our drink orders taken and my wife received a glass of warm white wine about 10 minutes later. Placed a food order shortly thereafter and received our appetizer in a reasonable amount of time.

Waited another 30 minutes to ask about our dinner order since we suspected it hadn't been put in. A server brought us a big bowl of soup we didn't order a few minutes later which created some confusion for the staff. Another 15 minutes after that, we started receiving oddly warm sushi. It was good, but the temperature was a bit unsettling.

Bill was about $97. I think we should be able to expect better service at this price.

The sushi was so fresh and amazing, with so many options, but what stood out was the attentiveness of the staff. They were so kind and helpful, always available for questions, orders and refills. Would highly recommend.

I'm from Chicago and since I've been here I haven't had any sushi to compare to my spots at home. Until now! The sushi, and the service was great. I've finally found my sushi home away from home, lol

Terrible experience. I was seated at a table and, right when I was about to place my order, they asked me to leave because the table was “reserved.” I found this rude, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
