Looked clean. Service was absolutely aweful. Tried to mention issues, they acted as if they didnt even hear. Zero seasoning on pretty much everything. The cook Ono didnt acknowledge or talk to us. Tried to serve us mushrooms when told 3 times allergic. Only going to make that mistake once.
Perfect. The food and the service was fast. Everything was seasoned and everybody was friendly.
It’s taking one hour for our chef to come start cooking. They only had 3 chefs working and 8 tables. We had been sat down for 30 minutes and then they proceeded to add someone extra to our table. Had reservations at 7:30 and I am still waiting ,it’s currently 8:25.
We came for a birthday and had the time of our lives! The staff was so wonderful and catered to all of our needs (having younger children at the table, etc.). I would highly recommend for a special event or occasion.
Horrible Service.
A take out order which was supposed to only take 20 min- turned into an hour and 15 wait.
Every time I inquired it was another 5 min.
On a Tuesday! Literally maybe 8 people Inside dining.
Will not be back
Big fan of Shoji. Love the pineapple express roll.
Best flipping restaurant ever
Shoji is consistently a great place to go. The hibachi chefs are entertaining while making tasty dishes. The staff is also friendly and attentive.
My family and I recently went to Shojis and had one of the worst experiences ever. The chef was so focused on other family on the same table and made us feel invisible. Our food was cooked over beef gravy even though we don’t eat beef and the chef seemed aware of this fact otherwise he would have offered us the same just like he offered the other family the shrimp that we ordered. We ordered fried rice, but he only gave us rice with soy sauce on top; no egg or even vegetables. The rest of our food was below average. Overall, it was a poor experience with the chef as well as food. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. We did tip inline with the current standards, which we should not have and also talked to the manager who seemed not interested.
Great atmosphere for kids. Love the Hibachi Grill. It was fun for the kids. Friendly wait staff too.
The sushi side of the restaurant is great too. Love their Shoji fried rice. Might be a tad salty. We order a few rolls and they are all tasty and beautiful in presentation.
Restaurantji Recommends
The food was good. Several people @ the table had food allergies and they accommodated them all. Nice show @ the hibachi.
Love the shrimp bento box! Great food and a good price!
I would absolutely recommend staying away from Shoji Hibachi & Sushi. The food is average, but the service and manager makes up for any positives with utter incompetence and complete lack of knowledge of how to run a restaurant.
My most recent trip we sat in the hibachi area. Two of us ordered hibachi and two of us ordered sushi as our meal. After they were halfway done with the hibachi I began to ask about the status of my rolls. They kept saying they were working on them. Then they would send another waiter to tell me it would be 5-10 minutes at the most. I asked them twice to cancel my order if it would be more than three more minutes twice and then they finally brought it 57 minutes after we ordered it. It was only five small rolls. The other two in our party had been done eating for 20 minutes when we received our food.
I spoke to the manager and she never apologized, just told me they were doing their best. Not even a one dollar discount for all of the trouble. They had a large to go order and they got backed up. Sad that someone running a restaurant cannot figure to prioritize the in house customers. We have had a number of issues in the past where she cannot keep reservations and will make you wait. On one occasion I was standing waiting for a table next to the chairs and she yelled at me to sit down. If they had someone else running it in the evening they would have a lot more potential to be a decent place.
There are plenty of good Japanese restaurants in the area. Do yourself a favor and visit one of those.

We drove to 4 different places looking for hibachi, and finally found this gem! Every other restaurant didn’t have grills where they cook for you. The prices were great and our servers were awesome.
The only thing I will say is we thought it was strange that it costs an extra $3 for fried rice on every plate at the hibachi table, or else you only got steamed rice- no noodle option either.

Best hibachi! Mom and I love to try different hibachi restaurants. But this place is the best. I love the mustard sauce. So many hibachi restaurants are now serving yum yum instead of mustard sauce. The filets are prepared perfectly at medium rare. So tender and delicious.
