Soul Foods India Reviews
I can safely say now my search for authentic, better quality quintessential Maharashtrian products has to come a fruitful end!
Purnima, a kind soul and genuinely nice person has started this initiative to bring in the best of products all the way from Pune! The line of brand includes Sohum Udyog, Ganesh Bhel, Gore Bandhu, etc! I was not quite aware about majority of the brands but I could quickly judge the taste and quality of the products once tried.

Soulfoods India is a grocery store with an attached kitchen that specializes in authentic Maharashtrian cuisine. Their signature dish is the vada pav, known for its authentic taste and freshly baked paav. Visitors often praise the vada pav, samosa, chhole puri, and sabudana khichdi, calling them some of the best in the US. The store also offers a variety of Maharashtrian products from well-known brands like Chitale, Aathavles, and Sohum. Many customers feel that the food captures the true flavors of Maharashtra, with dishes like misal pav, masala bhaat, and garlic masala vada pav reminding them of home. The food is highly regarded for its taste, though some find the portion sizes smaller and the prices a bit on the higher side, typically around $25 to $30 per person. The shop has a warm atmosphere, and the owner, Poornima, is appreciated for her humbleness and warmth. Overall, Soulfoods India is a go-to place for those craving Maharashtrian food and products, offering a taste of Maharashtra that many consider worth the drive from afar.
Recent reviews highlight that the restaurant provides a good experience with nice food and service. Customers suggest that adding a few more items to the menu could make it even better. Many enjoyed a cutting chai and vada pav after work, with some noting that it was a great introduction to street food for those who haven't tried it before, especially if they like a little spice. The location is highly loved, with the vada pav and misal pav being particular favorites—some even say the misal pav is on another level—and the shrikhand is also appreciated. Visitors praise the samosas for being the best, always made fresh and crispy, and note that the place is very clean. Pairing hot samosas with a cup of tea is highly recommended for a tasty evening snack. Overall, Soulfoods India offers authentic Maharashtrian dishes and snacks that remind many of home, making it a special spot for Maharashtrian cuisine in the US.
