Today we visited the Frisco Farmers Market based on the reviews for the Taste of Mardi Gras Foods. Everything looked good but just no seasoning on the food. In no way is this a Cajun experience. I would rank it as a Sonic experience at best. No reason to go here.

Beignets are legit! Everyone there was awesome and they are opening a location at Stonebriar Mall! We will definitely be back!

EXCELLENT! Had the crab balls, hush puppies and hubby had the boudin balls. Purchased these frozen so I could cook them the following evening. Flavors are ROCKIN! Tasted the crab soup and waiting until its cold outside to have for dinner. She should open up a restaurant! Looks like we'll be having Cajun weekly!!!

I waited 45 mins for my order. I ordered a catfish platter which included 1 fish filet and cold fries ! I also added a side of shrimp which comes with 6 shroud only received 4 small shrimp ! The fish was bland however the shrimp were pretty good ! On a Sunday evening there were only 3 workers and the orders were messed up repeatedly the grand total was 21 dollars .

Dropped by the Frisco Fresh Market today to try the food from The Taste of Mardi Gras. I attempted last week but there was a huge line and I wasn't sure what was on the menu. I decided before waiting in the long line I'd go up to the register and check out the menu. They had a board that listed some wonderful items however there were no prices. I picked up what I thought was a mini menu in front of the register however it was just a brochure. They were so busy because they cook to order most of what they sell I decided to look online, to no avail, and then decided to come back another time. I contacted them on social media and asked for them to post a menu with prices but to no avail. So, I dropped by today and there was no line. I was quoted a price of $8.99 a pound for boiled crawfish and saw they had put out 2 menus by the register. I purchased a 16" Shrimp Po'boy ($21) and 3 pounds of crawfish ($27) to take home. My son really dislikes tomatoes and pickles, so we ordered the po'boy with lettuce only in addition to the garlic butter they add. When we got home my son unwrapped his po'boy to find the normal amount of tomatoes and pickles, no huge deal just disappointing, pull them off and eat it. The fried shrimp were wonderfully cooked and had a little kick added to the batter. The bread was outstanding and is from Gambino's (if you know, you know). My crawfish were seasoned okay although we both detected a bit of sweetness that was somewhat off putting. There were a number of mushy tails, tails that were dark grey, and some that were hard. Most of the crawfish were very small, even though I realize this is early in the season I've had larger elsewhere here locally in the past couple weeks. When paying the premium price of $8.99 a pound for crawfish at a walk-up counter, I guess I expected more. The people behind the counter were very pleasant and conversive and I wish them well as a fellow Louisianan now Texan. P.S. Late this afternoon I got a response to my online inquiry about their prices however a bit late. I was told if you ask for "The Special" you can get the crawfish at $7.99 a pound. So far this year my standby for crawfish is a hole in the wall in Lewisville called the Bayou Market where you can get mud bugs for $6.99 lb anyday and 10 lbs or more for $5.99 lb. Waiting on Mudbugs Bar & Grill to open up soon on Hwy 423 to try them, is owned by Louisiana folks from Jennings who started out running live crawfish from LA to Dallas.

I was told it would be about a 20 minutes wait upon ordering. And it was so worth it! Hot, Fresh, incredibly tasty! I had Seafood Gumbo and I'm from New Orleans- so you can't serve me no anything, THIS GUMBO was delicious!! I had so many shrimp on my platter a passerby said, “ oh my that looks good!” I said, “ please take one!” He obliged and went to get in line to get his own! Simply good food!
