Went here for my birthday. Had a reservation, so there was no wait to be seated, which was great for a Saturday night. Our server was great, very attentive and friendly. Loved the crab cake! ? Stuffed shrimp with asparagus was really good. Chocolate brownie cake for birthday dessert was excellent. Would recommend!Parking: There is a free parking lot just to the west of the restaurant. Didn't see it at first, as the front of the restaurant has about 10 parking spaces right on the street. Turned by the restaurant and saw the parking lot on the left.

If I could give GAIDO ‘S 10 stars, I would. The entire experience was absolutely amazing from the location, to the ambience, the cocktails, the appetizer, and the food. It all was absolutely amazing.!! The restaurant overlooks the beautiful beach and the rolling waves. Christian was our waiter and he was absolutely amazing. All of his recommendations were spot on. The cocktails were delicious, including the slightly spicy, jalapeño olives that garnished our martinis. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the oysters on the half shell and I loved the calamari. The bread was to die for. Our entrées were beyond works of art. We had the bacon wrapped shrimp and the crabcake stuffed shrimp. We brought our dessert back to our room and enjoyed it later that evening. The entire experience was an absolute triumph. GAIDO’s is a MUST on your next trip to Galveston.

Absolutely marvelous restaurant. Oysters Rockefeller had a bit of spice to them and were wonderful. Twist on Shrimp and Grits- blue cheese in the grits. Very rich, but very good.Dietary restrictions: There were a number of gluten free items on the menu

Such a disappointing trip to Guido's this afternoon. We have eaten at Gaidos many times over the past 44 years, having celebrated our engagement there. And we were back to celebrate our anniversary today. After waiting 10 minutes to be seated in a virtually empty restaurant, we were told it was oyster season- yum! Sadly, the oysters were so small and one presentation didn't even contain one. The fried oysters were so overdone, it was basically fried breading. We spoke to the manager, who agreed they weren't right. He brought a plate of calamari, which was equally disappointing, comprised of a few overly breaded calamari slices almost hidden in a plethora of diced tomatoes with a slightly sweet dressing. He did bring out 5 complementary fried oysters which were good. It is sad to see this once grand and delicious eatery slide, especially with so many other options in Galveston now.

Decided for a dinner at Gaidos before starring our cruise out of Galveston. The restaurant had been recommended to us, so our hopes and expectations were high.Unfortunately our experience wasn't great after all.A few bullet points:* 2 entrees were missing some ordered sides* requested ketchup for the fries of our 6 year old came only after rerequesting it and took 5+ min after the kids meal was served* my starter, the bisque, came to the table way after our entress and only after asking for it. The bowl was burning hot and seemed to be forgotten under the kitchen pass, as the bisque also already started to dry out on the rims* no additional beverage offerings during the meal, we sat dry half of our dinner* my wife ordered the recommended yellow fin tuna medium rare, it was very close to well doneWe e-mailed the restaurant after our visit, but never got a response.Overall service and food didn't meet the price value.

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday in March! Overall the experience was wonderful and we will absolutely be back. It was uncommonly busy for the middle of the week but everyone except the host seemed to be handling it well. Our server was funny, attentive, and made delicious martinis. However, in the reservation my boyfriend noted we would be celebrating my birthday and the first question from the server was if we were there for a special occasion. I’m not sure if it was an oversight on the host or the server’s part but it did take away a bit of the magic of the night. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the food immensely! It’s absolutely worth the price. We especially like the Shrimp Cocktail (we spread the Remoulade on the bread it was so good), the American Red Snapper Michael, and the Pecan Crunch with the happy birthday message! The beach is a very special place for us and I’m happy to include Gaido’s in our celebratory traditions.
Food and service awesome. Would definitely go back!!

Gaidis is a great seafood restaurant. We had a party of 6 for a birthday celebration. The waiters were attentive and knowkedgeable, without being intrusive. The food was outstanding! Every dish we ordered was done perfectly. It's obvious that the seafood is fresh, the taste tell that story. I recommend Gaido's for any occasion.Parking: There's a dedicated lot just across the street, about a 100 yard walk in the worst case.

I eat at gaidos for many years and it is very sad to see the service and food degrade everything I go back, I tell my self for past 5 times it's the last time I will visit. I really think the problem is the non sense 1800 serving rules that the servers have to follow which puts them under alot of stress and results in bad service. I can see on their faces how stressful is working at giados. Change it up nick !
