Visiting the island for spring break, like on all trips, we had to get donuts from a local place. Home Cut was close to our Airbnb, and a local joint, so we decided to try them out. It was a great choice. Light, airy raised donuts with a nice snap to them when you take a bite and moist, dense cake donuts. We loved all the different flavors we got. My 8 year old had 3 of them! Great way to start our day.
I love everything about this place! The food, the people and the shop itself. You can dine in or use their drive-thru window. It's an old fashioned donut shop like when I was a kid. They have counter seating with spinning stools. It's a Galveston favorite.

Always love it there. Great people work there , they pay attention, treat you as an individual while still maintaining a quick pace when it is busy amd it gets busy but like I said they are quick and always very kind and attentive. Love it there and now that I'm not in that neighborhood I go out of my way to go there.

We have heard so much about kolaches, and that they are a must try. We decided to try a selection of different types/flavors. It appears that the sausage kolaches is basically a sausage baked into a hot dog bun. The pepper kolaches were similar. They were okay. It may have been that we were there at 10 am and they are a sunrise time kind of thing. This is likely a matter of personal choice in trying them again.
Loved how much of a small charming hometown feel it has. Fresh donuts every time too! Love their breakfast sandwiches and croissant kolaches. Truly my favorite breakfast place so far!
