We were a party of 7. Saw the reviews and decided to give them a shot. Called and asked if there was a wait and was told no, so we headed that way. Got a call 5 minutes later stating that they had a table already set for us. Wow!Our waiter (forgot his name ?‍♂️) was polite and thorough. Food was priced very fairly and everyone enjoyed what they ordered (gumbo, bacon wrapped shrimp, bourbon street, shrimp platter, etc.) While waiting for our food, noticed that the GM seems to have a problem with our waiter. Actually told him to “leave and come back with a better attitude”. News to us, as he seemed very pleasant….?‍♂️ This exchange took place next to the order pick up window which was right in the seating area. The manager approached them and they all went to the back. The situation was handled very well from that point forth. Everyone returned to their job shortly thereafter. (Even the GM who continued with doing absolutely nothing productive). In conclusion, food was great, service was great and glad they had at least one competent person in house to handle the GM’s compete lack of care. You have a staff that seems to work well together (outside of the GM) and solid food. Don’t jeopardize it.I’ll be glad to discuss our overall experience more in depth with an owner.

This was a spontaneous trip. Was lost and looking for food. So happy I found this place. Upon walking in we were greeted. No idea what to get, a few suggestions were made and we were not disappointed. I thought I was getting a little bowl of gumbo... This bowl could have fed 2 people easy, without a doubt. Everyone was so friendly. i have to give a shout out to Michelle!!! Talk about southern hospitality! I love when a place makes you feel like part of the team/ family. This is going to be my new spot when visiting or before taking a cruise! I'll see y'all soon!

The food was great!!! It was very hot and so tasty. After reading the reviews we had to stop by. It was so worth the trip. The gator tails were soooo tender and the catfish filets were big!!! The staff was great! The two brothers that worked that night had us thinking we were seeing twins! ???

We appreciated stumbling across this Creole gem while visiting Galveston! The restaurant is situated on a quaint little street, reminiscent of NOLA with trolley tracks to boot! The aromas and a friendly team member greeted us as soon as we walked through the doors. The seating was plentiful and comfortable and the walls decorated with fun collage-y textured art, it was fun! Our drink and food order was taken by a polite and knowledgeable team member. And, our food was great; not a single complaint! We started with the gator bites and pickles, then selected main courses of: the seafood platter, Bourbon St platter, and boudin with étouffée. We had to get leftover containers, the food was so plentiful and filling. Things to especially note: 1) the gumbo is amazing, it is thinner than most I've had but the flavor is a force to be reckoned with! 2) the bacon wrapped shrimp are a must try! If you like jalapeño poppers, bacon and shrimp you will enjoy every morsel then wish you had more! 3) the Cajun green beans are a gift to your entire being! Comforting, tasty, a tad naughty in every bite!

Can't comment on atmosphere as they were so busy and we had a large group. They set us up outside and took great care of us!

Small cozy place that has incredible food. We we're in for a car club cruise and wanted good food but need quick service. Sunday at 1PM and we we're in and out within an hour with a party of 4. If you're on "The Strand" stop here.

I normally do not leave reviews, but I wanted to share my first bad experience. I ordered a shrimp dinner, and two mumbo gumbos ($20 each) right before the restaurant closed. This was at the League City location. We picked the order up an everything was hot and fresh. About time we made it home the restaurant was closed. On one of the gumbos I had asked for no oysters or prime rib to substitute with extra shrimp. The order did not have the rib or oyster, but did not have the extra shrimp. I didn't think much of it because I understood it was late. I put the gumbo in the refrigerator to call and have my order corrected the next day. I did not eat out of it so they could see the extra shrimp was missing. I called the manager the next morning to explain my concern and asked if she could remak the one gumbo order. To my surprise her response was she could give me a few shrimp to go in the order. I was surprised she did not offer to remake the whole gumbo order. As I understand she did offer to do something, but I was missing crabmeat as well. I'm not the kind of customer that look for anything for free. As I also understand I should have checked the gumbo before I left with it. However I am a regular customer as well as my family. Something so small has cost this restaurant to lose a loyal customer. The manager made me feel like I was asking for a handout when I was simply asking her to rectify the problem. The food is awesome and I would recommend, however I would say make sure you double check your order before you leave. Nikki Hawkins

I'm not sure who said the food is bad? But they are dead wrong!! This place is awesome. My wife had the chicken and sausage gumbo (had to) and while it's not spicy it had great flavor! I had the jambalaya and the rice was perfect not too mushy not undercooked. The shrimp were cooked absolutely perfect and were fresh. I like spicy so I added Tabasco to kick it up a notch. Our son had a bacon cheese burger which was also very good! The service was amazing! I'll waitress was very attentive and checked on her several times throughout the meal. I never had to ask for more water, a drink, refill or water refill. The place is very cozy and the artwork is super cool. Definitely a great place to have dinner.

Great gumbo with a rich dark rue. The jambalaya was also really good. Great service too! Get the gumbo
