Food was incredible! Order the lamb chops , crab cakes and arugula salad! Christina and Raeshawn are such great servers with wonderful service and friendly personality. Out of all the staff throughout the hotel, the team at Monarch outshine everyone! Kudos and thanks for assisting me during my stay.
The Arugula and Pear salad was very good. The blackened red snapper was delicious. The ambiance was perfect for a business meeting.
The food looked great however the service was so bad we wound up leaving. Too bad.
Went for Restaurant Werk Dinner. The meal was delicious, large portions and a good value for the price. Excellent service and very accommodating to dietary needs. Beautiful historic space too.
Went for Galveston Restaurant week and we were blown away. We were a little leary because of the reviews and they were not busy but, their new executive chef killed it. The lump crab cake was a meal in itself. The Filet, Redfish and the Banana Foster Bread Pudding were all outstanding. Glad we decided to go as it was one of the best meals we ever had during Restaurant week.
We had an excellent lunch at the Monarch! The French dip was perfect and the po-boy was outstanding. The gentlemen (Ibrahim) that waited on us was excellent! We look forward to our next visit! Highly recommend.
We had an outstanding dinner at Monarch! The food, ambiance, and service were impeccable. Highly recommend.
Amazing Food and Staff!! We ate here for the New Years pre fix menu absolutely Fantastic!!
Very nice experience. Wonderful, attentive service and the food was generally good. For food that was not cooked right, they apologized politely and made amends very quickly. I appreciated that very much. The hotel is also very nicely decorated for Christmas now!

It was a great experience to go there. We got breakfast and they gave us a coffee at the start. The continental breakfast was great, same with the shrimp and grits. Definitely recommend going!!! :)

Always enjoy the amazing brunch that is served at the Galvez. The best staff everyone is amazing over the top in service.
I decided to have a light dinner, due to having enjoyed a substantial lunch that day. The restaurant had two large tables of guests seated, probably from the conference going on in the hotel at the time. I was seated at a table near the bar. Despite being by myself, I received very attentive service. My expectations were not high, with the two large groups of other guests. I was very impressed. The host and servers tag teamed very well to attend to all of their guests.
We enjoy the Food! Especially the shrimps and grits and Cesar salad w/ shrimps and husband order ribeye steak and he loves it! Will come back definitely!
Great birthday experience! Food was excellent and abundant with loads of options. Our server, Heaven, was excellent. Highly recommend!
We have stayed and eaten at this hotel many times. The service is always terrific as was our last experience. However, much to our disappointment and chagrin, the restaurant was out of several things and the menu was not accurate. They ran out of olive oil, coleslaw, rice pilaf and Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio. Also, the pasta with fra diavolo on the menu would now be served with a creamy white wine sauce. I can't speak for anything else on the menu because I just know that we tried to order the above items and learned they were out of them. I also ordered the grilled shrimp (nice large shrimp and generous portion) BUT they were not grilled. They looked steamed or sautéed and had very little flavor. Our poor waiter was clearly embarrassed. The restaurant manager came by with an apology, gave us a discount and I do appreciate the gesture and act of goodwill.
