Everytime I visit Galveston this is a place I always stop at. The bartender at this particular visit was really cool and attentive. The bar was dead but my significant other and I still had a good time. The history behind this building is very interesting. Check out the Galveston strand ghost tour.
The dude running the bar here was super cool. That said, it is not a place for grub. We heard the microwave go off a few times. If you've had some drinks and need something to chow on, then go ahead - that's what it's for. $9.50 for a microwaved sandwich, so if you're up for that, cool. For an Irish establishment, there was not very much the Irish feel, but then, this is Galveston, TX, so also, if you're up for that, cool. Still, the guy was awesome and...
A wonderful Ruben Sandwich! Had one back in October and have been dreaming about visiting again (12/2024). The dark rye bread, corned beef,…….all wonderful. And free parking if you park one block east. 😄
