We asked for some tips regarding local BBQ places from out hotel reception and they recommended this place. And by God were they right. This was definitely the best bbq that I've had anywhere. Super good food, really nice people and atmosphere. I'll definitely come again next time I'm visiting Galveston.

Chippewa Trail Trading Post
Chose this place because it was convenient to my lodging. The owners have not updated the yelp menu, so they no longer offer any of my choices. I ended up ordering the 3 rib plate sauce on the side, Gouda Mac and Cheese, and cole slaw. The ribs were very small, seasoned well, no real smoke ring with a just ok flavor. Both of the sides were extremely bland, the Mac and Cheese was smushy- the macaroni very overcooked. The cole slaw was basically just shredded cabbage without dressing. I was not impressed. As I said, the food was just barely ok. The people were nice, but they didn’t like me questioning the owner provided yelp menu that hadn’t been updated. All in all, I would not go back. I would prefer genuine smoked meat and sides with some flavor. The prices were high for the offerings. I stayed across the street from this place for over a week and never saw or smelled smoke. I don’t know where they allegedly smoke their meat, but it isn’t here.

Original review for prior owner, as are many of the others here. Be forewarned, the new owners have destroyed this once wonderful restaurant. FIFTY DOLLAR ($50) meal for two. Ribs could literally be mistaken for jerky. Turkey was almost as bad. Dirty rice and beans were inedible. The slaw was the one thing we ate, some of. Unbelievable! We will never eat here again.

This was a fun and unique place! The food was delicious! You order at the counter…it is fast food bbq! Two combo plates was plenty of food for our family of four.

We love this place every time in Galveston we go to Queen they have the best pulled pork sandwiches and the sides they have are amazing and the service is top-notch
doordash the sandwich. everything I selected not to come on the sandwich still came on the sandwich. sandwich was not edible. tried to call the number on Google phone number didn't work. so not only do I have a non-edible sandwich I have no way of telling them. I have a non-edible sandwich. Sandwich. looks like complete garbage as well.
