Shipley Do-Nuts (Galveston)

This is a drive thru only donut shop. You can park in the parking lot, but the tables inside have the chairs stacked on the tables as if they're closed. (I don't think you can go in and sit at a table). You can get to the drive thru on the side street, and it's a little wonky, but the apple fritter is really good. Don't expect a normal, flat fritter, the shape is that of a cinnamon roll, with the apple filling throughout the swirls of dough, it is HUGE! 😂👍🏻

Got an assortment of donuts late in the day. They were kind enough to throw in some free ones for us! Very tasty donuts!

Guys be careful and ask for a receipt at this place. I ordered a coffee and kolache and they double charged my card.

I visited on my birthday and mentioned it in passing to the cashier. I asked for extra filling in my chocolate long bar. They added the extra, some icing and candles then all 6 employees sang me happy birthday!! It was so nice. It made my day!

My son's Scout troop got donuts there a few weeks back and they were fantastically helpful and accommodating to a bunch of boys and dads early in the morning.

I had a pickup for this location and there was absolutely no parking so I decided to just go through the drive thru I get to the window and tell the lady I’m here for a pickup and I give her my name she tells me that it’s not ready and to come inside… which makes 0 sense if it’s not ready just make it like you’d do any other customer that comes through the drive thru but I didn’t argue I went inside and sat for over 15 minutes watching them not make my order (at this point it wasn’t busy just people sitting inside eating) it took me getting up and asking what’s going on for them to finally get my things together but when it was time for me to get my stuff and leave the lady in the front acted like she didn’t want to give me my order!!!! I had to ask her if she wanted to see my ID! Just to pick up my food that I paid for! She was just rude and snappy kept asking for my name and I kept telling her but she demanded to see it somewhere else for proof that it’s my name.

Overall this place won’t be seeing me again I don’t care how good the donuts are customer service is everything and making it difficult for your customers isn’t good customer retention. I don’t want to play the race card or that she was prejudice but she definitely treated me differently than other customers I seen others get greeted with smiles and openness and everyone before me got a have a good day but all I got was mean and darkness.

Sketchy drive through if you have a low car and walk in is not an option. Customer service was ok but the donuts were not great. Tasted stale and very basic. Will not be going back.
