Was pretty stoked to try this place, but ultimately left disappointed. I ordered the fish and shrimp with mac and green beans. The green beans were super watery and unseasoned, the fish and shrimp looked great but were so salty I couldn't even finish them. The mac and cheese was good, but at $30 a plate, that shouldn't be it. The cornbread was cold and dry. We ended up leaving more than half our food in the containers and going to whataburger later.

I was really excited to try this place based on the reviews but this place was not good. Period The ambiance is dingy but they have good music so you can get through this disappointing experience jamming at least. This is the least important part of this review. The important part is the food. My girlfriend and I got fish and shrimp (me with rice and gravy and Mac) (my girlfriend with Mac and green beans) The rice was minute rice and still not cooked all the way Each plate came with cornbread which was jiffy baked into muffins which were cold in the center The mac and cheese was the only decent thing The fish and shrimp were so overly salty we couldn't finish the plate The cherry on top was each of the $30 plates being served with containers of Kraft Tatar sauce on the side They have Cajun chef hot sauce and not Louisiana or crystals which I think given everything else was a sign to not order to begin with. All of y'all giving 5 star reviews to anywhere and everywhere need to stop- it needs to end. Yelp is a disappointment along with this restaurant.

Great soul food. The amazing food and super friendly staff will warm your heart and your soul!! Check for daily specials btw!! I think they also just started some kind of buffet option but check times and dates. This is how I learned about American comfort food.

The chicken wings was cooked in the same oil they cook the fish in, my wings had fish seasoning on them and the wings taste like fish. As a restaurant owner, you should know to cook fish and chicken in separate oils. And the only reason the locals are not complaining, because they are probably used to it. I really had a problem paying $19 for wings that taste like fish. Potatoe salad is too sweet, add more mustard and a little salt and pepper. For the mac and cheese, too plain, add some salt and pepper and onion powder in the noodles before you add the cheese. I didn't order fries, but had two burnt fried in my to-go-container. The wings was over cooked.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant from out of town. The food was salty and some of the sides were not seasoned well. The fried wings had chicken feathers on it. The lemonade was not fresh, it tasted days old and the placed appeared dirty it had bugs on the floor and near the window panes. Not worth to pay for!

The fried fish was wonderful! It was cooked fresh so came out hot and crispy! Nice portions too! The okra was very good too. The yams were heavenly! The staff was very attentive and friendly! I'll be back!

Really great Southern style cooking! Love this place. When one grows up on southern cooking it's virtually impossible to eat anything else. Time for another visit!!

Im so glad we tried this place. 10/10. We tried the fish, fried wings, Mac and cheese, fried okra, yams and mashed potatoes and we had the most amazing fried pound cake with ice cream. Everything was on point, I enjoyed the music and the ambience felt like I was at home in our kitchen. We’ll definitely visit again soon.

The owner is very nice which the best you can ask when visiting a new restaurant. The fried ribs was amazing and the cabbage and cornbread was great. Wish I could have tasted Mr. Willie fried cake, that will be on the next visit. The restaurant was nice and clean with a lot of parking.
