The wife and I stumbled into this place on our way to a different place around the corner. We never made it to the other place and we loved this little bar. Friendly bartenders with the new bartender making excellent traditional margaritas. Everyone who stopped in was very friendly. A solo acoustic guitar player was exceptional, playing awesome songs, awesomely. He added to the atmosphere. Relatively full bar, but limited beer selection; just a few cans and bottles. I believe the place is under new management since although they had a nice selection of wines, it didn't necessarily seem like a wine bar in any traditional sense.

Great wine selection by the glass, with $2 off per glass during happy hour. Gets busy on theater nights, but staff is knowledgeable, wine selection is great, either to drink there by the glass, by the bottle or retail bottles to go. Definitely my go-to wine bar in downtown Galveston/The Strand.

We love this place. They have a ton of wines by the glass, and will let you try something before you commit to a glass. They also have a lot of wine by the bottle that is reasonable priced. They have all day happy hour on Sunday so all glasses of wine are $2 off. They also have a newish guy working there that is very friendly and makes great recommendations. You can also order food from the restaurant next door and eat it there while you drink wine. We try to come here at least once every time we visit the island.

The Wine Next Door is located downtown around the corner from The Grand 1894 Opera House and between two of the best restaurants in Galveston (Rudy & Paco’s and Mama Teresa’s Flying Pizza). It’s a cozy, very neat and clean wine bar with a large selection of nice wines. The owner and staff are welcoming and quick with a wine recommendation if needed. We stopped in prior to a show at The Grand to relax and have a glass of wine. The wine and the service was fantastic.

Incredible selection of wines by the glass and the owners know the wines VERY well. Very acoustic environment so it gets loud as it fills up with people. Not a romantic date night place but casual and comfortable.
