Leave it to Richardson to have literally every ethnicity known to man. Comparable to Queens, New York. And that says a lot! By the server's suggestion, we tried this street dish of fried onions and rice. Think an Egyptian interpretation of an Outback Bloomin' Onion. (And I mean that in a good way, Michael Scott)

Decided to close their store but still had their website up to place orders despite that- submitted an order on Monday with no confirmation and then accepted the charges without delivering the food!!! If you are going to close your business, shut your website down BEFORE! Why would you accept a charge when you were closed and weren't providing services at that time. Terrible way to run a business

This place is quick, healthy, and great for branching out from more typical Mediterranean places. I got the ta'meya platter and mango juice.

The food is not bad but I give one star because the cashier over there very rude and has a zero customer service disrespectful and I asked her to many times to do a specific thing to my food she said I'm not gonna be able to do that , and what I think she is not even legal to handle a register because she is under 18 years old

Just walked out of the place with a full stomach and wanting to take a nap- with some take out to spare. Mediterranean is usually a hit or miss with me but my partner had it before and liked it so we came. NO REGRETS!!! We had three dishes that we split between the two of us. The koshari bowl, Ta'meya (falafel) plater, and Fattah w/ lamb shank plater. First dish we tried was the Koshari, which was wonderfully cooked, very tasty, and I highly recommend the spicy version. I promise it won't melt your tongue! It's one of the vegan options and FULL of carbs, chickpeas, rice, different types of pasta, and lintels topped with a tomato sauce, garlic sauce and fried onions. The owner said it would fill you up for hours and I believe him, we kept having to pull ourselves away to make sure we would have room for our other treats. Then we had the Ta'meya, which is a type of Egyptian falafel made of Fava beans instead of chickpeas. It came with a nice salad with a verity of veggies in it (onion, pepper, tomato) and a dip. I can't remember the name but it tasted like a creamy humus. It was hot and fresh and I loved dipping it. It's also vegan and I think would make a great lunch meal! Finally, the lamb shank came out. It's was so tender the plastic forks and knives cut it so easily it felt lIke it was practically coming off the bone. I loved it so much, and even the fatty bits were flavorful and soft! And there was still skin all over it with always is a boost of flavor. It was topped with some tomato sauce and on a bed of rice. Truly a meat lovers meal. I also want to mention the wonderful customer service. I never had Egyptian before and because mediterranean is a hit or miss- I was a little lost on what to order. The owner asked if we had been there before and wanted some explanations. I hadn't and I like recommendations so I nodded along and he explained everything in detail so I would know exactly what I was getting. It was hard to choose after! He also offered to bring out our food as it was finished being prepared so everything came out warm and fresh. So very nice. The place was also clean, well lit, and had plenty of decor to look at. As a tip, make sure to walk around to the street side for the proper entrance. We will come again!!! :) I already know my next order ;)

First time trying Egyptian food and I can honestly say I was not disappointed. The sweet woman who took our order and served us was kind enough to suggest the top favorites that were also featured in the Dallas observer. We got two dishes. The Koshari plate which was a pasta based dish was absolutely flavorful and filling. The red sauce is spicy and adds a very nice kick to it! The second dish was the Hawashi which looked like a beef empanada type meal. Once again very crispy and tasty. She really gave us a great first time experience and was very nice! Will be dining again soon!

You guys. The food at Mabrooka is AMAZING. I've had most of the things on the menu so allow me to break it down for ya. Koshari - carbs on carbs on carbs on carbs and sooooo satisfying Hawawshi - super simple but really tasty. spiced ground beef in pita bread and grilled(?) Fattah with Lamb Shank - yall, the red garlicy sauce on this is AMAZING. I'd put it on anything and everything. Sheesh Tawooq - chicken is perfectly grilled! simple and satisfying dish. Oven Pasta - I could eat several servings of this with zero hesitation. It's comfort food at its finest! Om Ali - very interesting and probably different than things you've tried before Rice Pudding - so creamy, so delicious. it reminded me of the rice pudding my grandma makes. Go there - try all the things, thank me later!

Very delicious, authentic Egyptian food! Best part? Egyptians are cooking the food! Especially the dessert!

Service is, umm, slow. Food: - the foul bowl was delicious (they make it soupy here, not paste-y if you've had it elsewhere. - Babaganoush: mostly eggplant. Still good - hummus: light and lemony. Tasty. - falafel: crispy shell and soft inside just the way I like it. - lack of tea, ice, and most flavors at their fountain dispenser was unfortunate.

I just got back from Mabrooka and while I heard it was going to be good, but I was not prepared for just how heavenly the food would be! I'd give this place 10 stars, if I could! I'm Egyptian and have high food standards and have been sorely disappointed with Middle Eastern restaurants that don't serve food to meet my exacting standards, but not Mabrooka! The owner is the chef and you can tell she cooks with love and attention as though she were serving guests in her home. This is not commercial middle eastern food that you can get anywhere. This IS the real deal and it's cooked for your happiness. I tried several dishes and they were all outstanding: Koshari- of course! Was tasty, not as much rice as I'd like thou. Alexandrian liver- to die for! So buttery and flavorful. Veggie moussaka: delicious! Ta'ameya (Egyptrian falafel)- the best I've had outside Egypt. When it's green on the inside, you know it's legit. Mint Lemonade- tasty, but I'd prefer it to be a touch mintier. I'm already planning my next big take away order to take with back home to DC! If you haven't been to Mabrooka yet, be prepared to be a lifelong customer; it's just that good! I was heartened to see so many Americans frequent the place and leave with very happy faces and full bellies! They've caught on to this little gem of a place! Keep up the good work, MashAllah!!

Great food. Wonderful service. I went with a large group of 20 and the owners were very sweet and accommodating. Their daughter was the best little helper. The kushari and lamb Shank's red sauce has a bitter taste to it which overwhelmed a lot of the other flavors.

The flavors in their food are amazing. It is definitely a place to check out if you like trying new things. It's Egyptian street food.

Best Egyptian food I've ever eat in the US. Best things I tried was the koshari, mombar, spicy hawawshi and om Ali. Highly recommend.

Hands down best Egyptian street food probably in the USA. I always order their koshari and I never got a single disappointment no matter what the spicy level I asked was. Very clean and consistent quality of food.

Highly recommended place. My recommendation is the Koshari plate. The taste is so authentic and amazing. You get the real stuff from here. The spices are just balanced and the mix is great. I also tried the Ta'meyah with Tahini and OMG. They taste even better than home. For the desert, go with the Rice Pudding. The rose water in it is not overwhelming and the mix is perfect. Great way to brighten the rest of your day. The pistachios on top just make it the perfect desert.
