The Square Cafe? 42 years it was the Nutshell. The new owners changed the name to the Square cafe. Google brought us to the place. We were looking for direction to the nutshell as that is what showed on our exploration on maps. The staff was friendly. The food was home cooking! It was very delicious! The history is so very interesting. Come in sit a while and ask. The pictures tell the story of the food.
This restaurant is now known as the Square Cafe. We met the owner a few days ago and learned they have gluten free bread available. We stopped by for lunch on Father's Day and the restaurant was packed. Despite the full restaurant our food came in about 15 minutes - and I could see that meals came steadily from the kitchen. Awesome breakfast for a reasonable price in an old, charm filled building. This place takes the style of an old mom and pop diner and combines it with the old-time charm of downtown Granbury for an excellent experience all around. It's our new go-to for the Square.
