This place was amazing and it was always our favorite every time we visited. My wife is from Granbury and I was happy to share in one of the last places on the square. That was around when she grew up there. I'm going to miss dearly, And I'm sorry that some California had to come in and buy it. And ruin something that was not only great, but successful and quintessentially Texan. I feel like i'm saying goodbye to an old friend.
Just arrived in town for business and looking for nice breakfast and decided on The Square Cafe.Took a moment to get acquainted with ordering process once I walked in, but got my bearings and went to counter to order. Girl at counter was very nice. Ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes with bacon. I love lemon ricotta pancakes but these were a bit different. Not as light as most and could not detect the lemon curd that was either incorporated or on them. Top of pancakes were golden...
Ate the buffet, biscuits & gravy, sausage, bacon, and scrambled eggs. Then went back for more and got the French toast. Food was amazing, service was friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect.
