Have had good luck here in the past. Visited today (3/29/24) and while the bbq was good, I had a small issue. Perhaps this was accidental. There was a language issue with the server. I ordered sliced beef but he started making a chopped beef sandwich. We got that corrected and he made the sliced beef with an unusually small amount of bbq. Texas Best Smokehouse offers a mixed experience for BBQ enthusiasts. While the brisket was ok, the same cannot be said for the sides. Unfortunately, they seem to lack the freshness and care one expects from a BBQ joint, giving off the impression that they might have been leftovers from the previous day.Adding to the disappointment is the lackluster service encountered during the visit. I love this gas station & it is convenient for me to charge my Tesla & have a quick bite to eat. It reminds me of a mini buc-ee's in all it has to offer from all flavors of jerky , popcorn & so much more! It has souvenirs galore & tons of fresh food from sushi & sandwiches. On this day, I tried the brisket tacos & they were terrible as the people cutting the brisket literally just chopped up fat. It was 95% fat & 5% meat.
