First I waiting over 15 minutes before someone even took my order ! Food was nasty and my chicken fried chicken was super hard but I was hungry driving from Waco tx and cold the sides were nasty and bland !!! I asked to speak to manager she agreed on fixing the problem then proceeded to ask what I would like off the menu instead & I told her steak the waitress then slammed a 4 oz steak on the table with no sides I immediately sent it back and I was still charged for the entire chicken fried chicken plate ! I would not recommend this place they are rude & lack customer service !

First of all, we sat at the table for about 15 minutes before anyone even came to check on us. Once the food came, the chicken fried chicken was hard and crispy. The manager came and said that she was replacing the order (and didn’t) we sent the food back and were still charged for it which was insane. The food was absolutely cold to where the butter didn’t even melt on the potato. This was the most horrible experience I’ve had at a restaurant and the fact that we drove from Waco to eat is even more crazy. The manager also stated that there was no one else to speak to on any day about our experience. I will NEVER come back and would definitely not recommend to a soul

Heard great things about Johnny Reb’s, so I decided to try it. We sat down around 6:15 enjoyed the cornbread and rolls while deciding what to order. I got a simple hamburger (add mayo and mustard) with fries; my brother ordered the large chicken fried steak—which turned out to be just two smaller steaks covered in gravy. The food came out in decent time, but my burger was missing condiments. The waitress brought them when I asked, but after that there was no follow-up for OVER 30 minutes. Table was never cleared. We paid the check ($32.06) around 7:15.
The burger was good, the fries were cold and soggy, and the service was terrible. The waitress even gave a slick look when she saw the tip—which honestly matched the service we received. As a small, local business, that’s really discouraging because I’ve been to other small spots that left a much better impression.

This is a cute little find for those of us from out of town. I must admit that I chose it based on the word Cafe, but the food was a step above what I would normally consider from a typical cafe - with dishes like Beef Tips and Rice, Chicken Parmesan, etc. They have daily specials as well as lunch specials, burgers, sandwiches, and a great selection of dinner items. The food was a tiny bit on the bland side, but if you are coming to a cafe you probably arent expecting a ton of spice. It was great home cooking at fairly reasonable prices. Excellent service with a smile, our server anticipated our needs and never left us wanting. Oh, and it was pretty quick getting our food, that was another plus. Would definitely eat here again for some great comfort food!

We got the grilled ham and cheese with fries and the beef tips with rice and gravy with green beans and fried okra. Both entrees were amazing. Some of the most tender and flavorful beef tips I've ever had. Also the grilled ham and cheese was very good. The sides were not very good at all. The green beans tasted like they were dumped out of a can, which is fine, they just were not seasoned at all. Fried okra was a little soggy and but had great flavor. The fries were bland and soggy. The roll and cornbread muffin were ice cold. On a scale of 1 to 10 the food was still a 7.2 only because the entrees were phenomenal. They need to pay more attention to their sides and this place will be knocking it out of the park!

The service was great and the establishment was clean. However, the food was very bland. I had pork chops, green beans, and black eye’d peas. The vegetables tasted like they came strait out of a can. No seasoning and no butter. My friend ordered hamburger steak and it was raw and pink in the center . We had to send it back to be cooked.
Decided to stop here on a whim as I was making my way back home to Austin. I’m glad I did and I also feel grateful and lucky to have Lolly as my server. She was kind and super patient as I asked her a million questions about the menu and her recommendations. Thanks for a great first visit!

Food was disgusting. We ordered the fettuccine Alfredo pasta. One chicken and one shrimp. As well as chicken fried chicken. The mashed potatoes were definitely instant. The chicken was way too done and hard. The gravy and Alfredo sauce had no flavor. The noodles tasted like mush. Our waitress was VERY sweet, however when I explained the problem, I still was told I had to pay for my food and only not the two Alfredo’s.this place used to be very good, but I won’t be coming back.

Awful experience! From out of town and the girls were arguing in front of us who would take us a party of 6. They said they would need to split us up didn't have a big enough table for us. There were plenty of tables available and they just cleared off a big table. We said we were about to spend a lot of money in here and we tip good we walked out and went somewhere else.
