I cannot say enough great things about Armstrong’s! I usually get the crawfish étouffée and it’s ALWAYS delicious and only $10 for a generous portion. Today I ordered the gumbo $13, and it’s equally amazing! Their portion sizes are great, food is consistently delicious, and the service is fast. Definitely a great place for good Cajun cuisine in Waco, located amongst the many great restaurants/food vendors in Union Hall.
Love this place. We just left there and the food is amazing. Lots of flavor and very friendly staff. our 1st of many!!
I had the blackened chicken Alfredo and it was delicious. Large portions so I was able to share. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to try more things!

Armstrong's Bayou Cafe in Union Grove offers a wide variety of cuisines in a pleasant and trendy atmosphere. The venue is family-friendly and includes a field for children to play. Recently, the cafe has been praised for its initiative to provide free meals for kids, making it a great spot for families, including grandparents. While the prices are on the higher side, around $15-$20 per meal, the food is consistently delicious.
One highly recommended dish is the Panang Curry from Curry Up and Walk This Way, known for its rich and well-balanced flavor. Customers have also enjoyed the seafood potato and blackened pasta, both described as top-tier. Additionally, the crawfish étouffée is a favorite, priced at $10 for a generous portion, while the gumbo at $13 is equally amazing.
Zukes, another vendor in the cafe, offers a selection of teas with special flavors of the day. The tea can be a bit sweet, so it may be worth requesting less or no sweetness. The cafe also features a good variety of desserts, including a sugar-free ice cream option.
Parking can be a challenge, but it is manageable. Overall, Armstrong's Bayou Cafe is a great addition to the Woodway area and is worth checking out for a meal or a drink with friends and family. The service is normally good, and the portion sizes are great, making it a popular choice for those looking for delicious Cajun cuisine in Waco.
