Ate at 1929 last night, what an experience. Her excitement to serve us & presentation of food was so unexpected. Amazing whole Red fish, the bread that came with it melted in our mouth. She was out of sides & offered fried green tomatoes. Omg the best!
Sooooo yummy! Can’t wait to come back and try more!!!

to me
First I must say the customer service is top notch the owner makes you feel like family away from home. Now the food is top notch it is wonderful award award-winning flavors and quality very well worth the amount of food you get for a great price. 1929 and the staff have put love care and soul in all they dishes if you in the downtown area check them out you won’t regret it I promise I work in the building and eat here almost every day

I ordered a Shrimp Po-Boy and asked for extra Cocktail sauce. What I got was not an actual Shrimp Po-Boy, and no Cocktail sauce at all. The way they cook the Shrimp for the Po-Boy is not the way it should be prepared it's like they are using Catfish with Cornmeal. Which is not the they way a Shrimp Po-Boy is supposed to be prepared. The pricing was not what a Shrimp Po-Boy should be either.

I love the ambience. It’s inside of the lyric food market. The food was great so fresh and hot. I sat by the window with a view of downtown. 10/10 would recommend

If you have never been to The 1029 Po-Boy Kitchen you don't know what you are missing, I've been in Houston since 1986 and I have eaten all over Houston and this is some the best food you will find in all of Houston. It's June 24th 2025 and this is my 7th time here in the last two weeks.
