The Oxtail and Grits may have been the best I ever had. Husbands Gumbo was perfect. We even got all the kids to try Gator bites.
Best part was the atmosphere she creates, made it feel like we were having a meal with family.

I went here yesterday, and this was hands down one of the BEST meals I’ve had in my life! I was kind of confused on parking and how to get in the building, as it was my first time coming. Tip: park in Lyric Building garage and parking is free with your restaurant receipt. For appetizers my husband and I had a cup of the Bayou Water Gumbo. Delicious & roux is definitely homemade. Full of shrimp, crabmeat and sausage! And not just 1 or 2 shrimp like other places I’ve been to. Gumbo had a little kick of spice, but it’s not unbearable. My kids even liked it and didn’t complain of the spice. For dinner, my kids (11& 8) split a fried shrimp poboy & fries. It definitely was enough to feed them both. In fact, didn’t even finish the serving. That’s how much shrimp was in the poboy! Adults had the oxtail yakimein with grilled shrimp added. My husband also added greens to his. OMG…that was slap the table good. 2 huge oxtails that were very tender inside the dish. Broth also delicious…that I picked up the bowl to drink it. Yup!! Desert was the sweet potato bread pudding. Also very good! Everyone had enough to bring home for seconds. Monica & her sister were also very friendly and came to the table a few times to talk & check on us. I will certainly come back!
Parking: You must enter a paid parking garage, however it is free upon leaving if you have your restaurant receipt.

Best service ever let’s just say I came in all the way from Friendswood a 45 min drive to try some gumbo left dirty with gumbo all over my shirt it was the bessst gumbo I’ve had in a long time the experience was top notch they definitely gave us Red carpet treatment we had fries gumbo pop boys gumbo smothered greens crackling Beignets we had it all and majority of it was samples that they let us try we will definitely make a trip back and become regulars if you haven’t been please come you will definitely not be disappointed
The food was really delicious, the presentation and portions size was, very filling. Staff was Amazing, mostly definitely will be returning, and will Spread the word about this wonderful place.
