I visited today and was pleasantly surprised. As a Louisiana native, it's hard to find places that offer authentic creole dishes. Their food reminded me so much of home! ?⚜️ Even my children, who usually pass on cajun fare when eating out, gave it two thumbs up! The owner was accomodating to my request for breakfast, and the staff constantly checked on us to ensure we had everything we needed. I will definitely be back!

Hands down! The best gumbo this side of the Mississippi River. If you enjoy authentic cajun cuisine, then look no further.

I usually only do nice reviews, but this was a terrible experience from top to bottom. The food was meh. The bread was stale in places. We waited close to 40 minutes for our food. They said they couldn't find us, but we were sitting right in front with the number displayed that they gave us. The people working there were arguing and slamming things around. They had to make our order twice because they said they couldn't find us. I was very hungry. Let me repeat: we were sitting front and center. They could have offered us a bag of chips while we waited. Maybe they were having an off day, but it was just sad. I wish we had eaten somewhere else. Very unprofessional and the food wasn't very good.

Food was DELICIOUS, never had Yakamein before now I am addicted. I wanted to lift the bowl up, but I had to keep it classy lol. And the beignets are so good. My mind was blown in 30mins of eating.

So since it's Black Restaurant Week and My Birthday my best friend asked where did I want to go. I've been wanting to try 1929 Po Boy so here we are.The only person working at this time was kind and offered some suggestions. He was the only person, cooking, checking people out, and serving. Not acceptable. The red snapper was OUT. The ettouffee that was supposed to go with the grilled catfish po boy was out and the grilled was not cooked thorough. The red beans and rice had too much chili powder and was a pour replacement. I wish he would've told me what he did have. The swap water was scorched. No Yakamein. The one thing I thoroughly enjoyed was the fried green tomatoes and the company of the other patrons.I'm sad because I was excited. I am willing to try one more time though my birthday dinner was bad.
