The food quality was very poor. The meat tasted like reheated leftovers. There was no care or conscience for the people consuming this food. I ended up going back and forth to the restroom with stomach pain. I truly wonder how those responsible will stand before God. The food and cooking were a total mess — cold, and clearly lacking any cleanliness or care. Just from the look and smell, it was obvious that no one put any effort or conscience into preparing it.

So back on June 11 I ordered two gyro sandwiches with extra tomatoes. When I got back to my house with the order there were no tomatoes on either sandwich. I called the store asking for a refund or a credit on my account since I’ve been a long time customer. They told me the manager wasn’t in and he couldn’t give me a refund but if I came back in he could remake them. It was during rush hour and would have been a thirty minute round trip and didn’t want to get back in the car right after making said trip. He told me I could come in another day. Unfortunately I have been out of town and wasn’t able to make it up today July 9th. The guy at the front basically said no that only if I came back that day was the only way I could have gotten reimbursed . I asked him in future instances would I be able to get a refund, he ignored me the first time I asked and began to be very dismissive of me. I re-asked the question and he said he’d check for me. He then proceeded to sit down and scroll on his phone. After he gave me my food I stood and waited for his response and he had already moved on to other duties. So I repeated the question, asking if he had checked with a manager like he said he would and he replied with “uhhhh” so I told him not to worry about it and left. To which he replied “yeah have a good one” He in no way seemed sympathetic or apologized for anything and was uncaring during the whole interaction. I really love this place and was really let down by the staff and this is the only was I can get any reconciliation for the money, time and effort spent.

Ordered at the Heights location. Great tasting food. We got the gyro quesadilla, a gyro cheese steak sandwich, and a gyro bowl subbing lettuce for rice. All were delicious! Ordered during rush hour and the food was still ready quickly. Thanks!
No tomatoes just a bunch of onions and meat. No tatziki sauce on the side. Thank god I got garlic sauce I guess.
Original location is great but I’ve always had issues with my order at this location.

This used to be one of my favorite places to order from. The last two times we’ve ordered it’s been pretty bad. Portions are now smaller and the food taste worse. Feels like Al’s has cheapened out. Will not order again for a long time. My family use to eat here at least once a month.
Very tasty and tender chicken shawarma taco. Could have more chicken in the shawarma but good nonetheless. Fries were flavorful and not salty. I like my fries a hint soggy and soft . Most fires are on the crunchier side.

What has happened with their gyros? They used to be very tasty but over the last few months they have bee dry and not as much flavor. They also have been very stingy with their toppings. Very little onions and hardly any tomatoes. Last few times I went they put about 1/4 of a tomato slice in the gyro. Give me a break. They definitely have cut back on all toppings.

not sure if you can even call what they serve here shawarmas.. the meat was super dry and the pita itself had barely any sauce. the hot sauce was sweet (?) with absolutely no kick at all, no matter how much you use. really disappointed because i’ve been waiting for a shawarma place to pop up in this area of town for years. back to westheimer it is..
