This was my first time visiting this cafe, I wanted some nice Bengali mithai. The smell was overpowering, bleach covering something else. The person serving me was nice but the mithai was I don’t know how old. It doesn’t smell like food, and is growing mold. I did not get a receipt so I cannot return for a refund, though I had put print receipt in the checkout screen. I don’t know how the fresh snacks are at this store but definitely don’t buy Mithai from here.

We bought mixed sweets of half a pound and one box mishti doi, mishti doi was excellent and delicious, but all other sweets seems to not fresh as they are very dry, we expected them to be juicy, price seems very too high with respect to other Indian sweet shop prices. Overall a mixed kind of feeling as they don't have much listed items available.

I got here right when they opened up. Very kind and respectful owners. They make the snacks fresh for you. I got chicken samosas and coffee. Definitely recommend this place.

There were no issues with the reception or the welcoming behavior. The problem was entirely with the food and the taste. It was honestly one of the worst Teharis I have ever had — a complete shame to Deshi food. The rice in the Tehari was overcooked and mushy.

“I had the pleasure of dining at Bengal Café in Hillcroft, Houston, and I have to say, their chicken biryani is absolutely outstanding! The flavors were rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. Every bite felt authentic Bangladeshi and made with care. The portion was generous, and the staff were welcoming. If you’re a fan of biryani, this place is a must-try!
