I was a walk in for a business lunch - I got the 3 course lunch special. The main dish, ravioli- the pasta was very thick, hardly any meat/cheese inside. My bisque was ok, and chocolate mousse dessert was the best part of the meal. Did not hit the mark for me.

I had a bit of time and stopped at the bar and Tess was such a sweet bartender. She was so attentive and friendly and the meal was great and 10x better with her conversation throughout. Definitely coming to see Tess again!

The creme brulee with strawberries and whipped cream here is honestly as sweet as it gets. You caught a win with the Rockets tonight, but let be real, I am the best thing you will see all evening. If you have the confidence, I am definitely worth a conversation.

First visit to Amalfi. I was invited by my daughter for Father's day. If you only know traditional Americanized Italian food, (peas and cream in the carbonara) Amalfi will educate your palate with true authentic flavor of Italian cuisine.
Each person I met, from the lovely young lady at the door, to every subsequent person was extremely polite and professional. Our waiter (and waitress) we had one of each!! were excellent and thoughtful.
Bar looked well stocked, but I only had iced tea.
Now the food: I skipped the appetizer and started with a Lasagna and then a strip steak. The steak was good, straight forward and tender, vegetables were cooked perfectly. The Lasagna was extremely flavorful, and spiced to perfection, not one flavor was out of place. Again, the steak was excellent, but the real star of the meal was the Lasagna. We ended with an assortment of wonderful pastries, but if I am perfectly honest, another plate of Lasagna would have been a real chef's kiss.
Thank you to the staff and owners who put this place together. I will both return and recommend!

Very noisy and packed …. But food…. Excellent !!! It is unfortunate to have this place in such location and tiny space compare to the huge demand. Not a cheap place but this is authentic Italian food and very well cooked and presented.

Update June 2026: still great food and service very consistent across the years

My wife took me to Amalfi for my birthday last week. Reservation at 6.45pm, arrived 6.30pm. Hostess asked us to sit at the bar as there was no table available. We did so and watched her and other staff seat nothing short of 25 other diners. Finally at 7.15 I asked her again about our table only to have a blank stare back. The owner had been to the front stand a half dozen times by now and seating folks that are obviously from the neighborhood. The hostess and the owner could not have been more unobservant.
We finally get the tiny table next to the front door glass partition. Another wait +20 minutes. I was just pushing my chair back as we had decided to go to Papa's Steakhouse. Joaquin arrived and and asked if we could be helped. It was difficult to be pleasant. 1.5 hours and we were just getting to the water stage. At this point it does not matter what quality the food is or how extensive the wine list or any other matter as the evening is shot by now. If I wanted to have dinner at 8pm or later I would have made that reservation.

Fairly certain Amalfi is off our list. The last time I was in was a $1,800 tab in the private room.

Honestly, this place was a let down, as much as I wanted to like it. I recommend going somewhere else for holidays like Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, especially if you have infants since they don’t have enough resources to accommodate. This was with reservation, by the way. I felt bad that another party gave up their high chair for our baby, though willingly.

Service was horrid. We sat there for some minutes before getting greeted and several more for beverages. There seemed to be little coordination with waitstaff. Atmosphere was pleasant and they had air conditioning outside. I will give them credit. Food was edible, but arguably the size of kid’s meal. Paying $20+ for a kids meal is wild.
