Armando’s Mexican on Kirby never disappoints. The food is consistently flavorful and well-prepared, with standout classics like enchiladas, fajitas, queso, and fresh guacamole done right. Everything feels a step above typical Tex-Mex without losing that comforting, familiar taste. Service is attentive, professional, and polished without feeling stuffy—staff does a great job making you feel taken care of from start to finish. While it’s priced on the higher end, the quality of the food, strong drinks, and overall experience make it a solid value, especially for a nice dinner or special occasion. A Houston staple for a reason.

I just had the most fabulous party for 50 in my home and Armando’s catering made it a success!!! I knew the food would be fantastic, that’s a given. We had a fajita bar with chicken, beef and shrimp, plus queso and guac stations, chips, sauces, rice & beans, tortillas and margs on the rocks. Spectacular. But the absolute rock stars who made my party soooo effortless, were the servers/bartenders: Karen, Yane and Maria. REQUEST THESE LOVELY QUEENS!!! They were soooo sweet, totally organized, FAST, and came up with a million ideas I hadn’t thought of. All three have a very artful eye and displayed my buffet so beautifully. Much more so than I envisioned and I’m veryyy particular about the details and decor. They passed drinks and dessert, as well as served at the bar and beyond. They were everywhere all at once. It was amazing!! They quickly cleared the chafing dishes off the bar and replaced them with dessert trays. Then they stored all the food in containers, organized my pantry when they put my things away, whew!!! I’ve had small catered events (Thanksgiving) but nothing as full service as this. Also, this was the largest party I’ve had in my house, so anxiety was high. But as soon as I met these three lovely women, the anxiety was gone. I knew they had me. They allowed me to be a guest at my own party. This was a discerning crowd, and everybody said it was one of the best parties they’ve been to in a very long time. None of that would have happened without Armando‘s and Karen, Yane and Maria. I can’t thank you enough!!! Seriously! Beyond touched at the extra effort by all. Again, if you’re having a catered event by Armando‘s, request this trio!!
Almost forgot, shout out to Brittanni, one of the catering associates who I communicated with in the planning of this party. We had to modify the order several times as the guest list grew and she was great!

Armando's is our favorite Mexican food restaurant. We try to eat there whenever we are in town. The food and service are always excellent.

It makes me sad to say we will not return to Armandos in the future. It is not even close the restaurant it was. Over the two hours we were there, we never had a consistent waiter, they served a lemon drop with olives in it, it took an hour between our appetizers and our entrees, they would refill the water every 15 minutes if lucky and the snapper (at one time one of the best meals around) was bland and dry. We were there for 2 hours and watched the manager standing but not once addressing any of the issues. And when I had to go to the kitchen to find someone to ask for our check and pay after no one was coming by - it was the manager I located. He took the card but not one word to address our frustration.

Restaurant living on reputation only.We have been going there since the first location and last night's dinner with friends was terrible.Queso was bland and underwhelming.Our mains were very poor.The snapper was cold with no seasonings,chicken fajitas bland,the filet was tasteless tough and over cooked.All the sides were cold and the “famous beans” tasted like they came out of a can.No one asked how dinner was just”Are you through”.Beware very expensive and tired!!

We made a reservation for my girlfriend's birthday dinner and Armando's did not disappoint! From the moment we drove up to the restaurant, the ambiance outside and inside were to die for. Very cute, classy, and chic! We did go on a Wednesday, so it was quieter than a Thursday night where the music comes out. That said, the staff was incredibly friendly, the tables were spotless and (again) so classy, and the food was great! I would 100% come back and recommend to anyone looking for an upscale tex-mex dinner. We initially had plans to get ice cream down the street, but the churros looked so good that we scrapped our plan and ordered those for dessert instead - let me just say, SO good!
The food was overall good, I really enjoyed the octopus was my favorite but unfortunately the service was not good, the delivered our food to the next table that not only arrives later than us but also the place wasn’t busy at all, probably only 6 tables.

I have been coming to Armandos for over 35 years all the way back to the little house on shepherd. As always the food is excellent and the wait staff is very good. Personally I miss Manuel, he was the best. but that's just a personal opinion. the only negative and again it is my mistake, is going on Thursday night, it is a madhouse, getting ready for the dancing which is not my cup of tea when I want to enjoy a great restaurant and conversation with my wife and friends. But I knew that and forgot about Thursday. Other than that, everything food, service, etc. Perfect. thank you. Jeff Southworth
