The Stafford location has turned into a scam and the “owner” has no business being in customer service. Small issue with the kitchen messing up my order which the waitress didn’t catch but when I voiced to her the problem, I told her it wasn’t a big deal even though she offered to have the cook re-make it (I didn’t want to wait for my meal any longer). The major issue is they over charged my credit card. The waitress gave us our check, I gave her my credit card and when she returned, I noticed the amount she charged was higher than the amount of the check. I thought that maybe there was a credit card surcharge but when I calculated the difference, it came out to about 5% and I knew that most surcharges are up to 3% so I asked the waitress. She said the “cook” told her she undercharged so she just charged what she was told to, no explanation to us beforehand. I explained that she presented a bill and we should have been charged that amount. It was then explained the menu price had changed but again, I said the check was presented and that the amount of the check should have been charged. The “owner” refused to honor the original amount. Bait and switch, poor customer service, and what a bad decision that they would lose a long time customer over this. The right thing to do would have been for the “owner” to apologize for the mistake, explain she would honor the original price but next time the new price would be charged. I’ll NEVER return which is a shame because the “owner” mis-handled this. We really did enjoy the food here and the waitstaff is usually very nice and prompt but there are many more honest restaurants in town. Happy New Year!
Our first time there. I want to start by saying that the service was terrific. Everyone was friendly and professional and service was swift! We felt welcomed.
We had Migas and a 6 egg white omelette. Both tasted fresh and were fine and average. I wanted to try the corned beef hash but it’s not house made, so I opted for the migas with chorizo.
I wish I took a picture of the scoop of butter. It kind of “looked” curdled. When I tasted it, it had a sort of petroleum-like note to it that reminded me of the petroleum-like flavor of canola oil. It was either refrigerator-air infused or they’re cutting their butter with some kind of cooking oil. I didn’t ask. I don’t blame them if they do cut it, butter is ridiculously expensive right now. It was weird-tasting, though.
Overall, the breakfast was good and average. I would go again for convenience (good location and tons of free parking) and excellent service. I’d like to give lunch a try.

Traditional breakfast, brewed coffee is WEAK and there are no espresso drinks. The migas were tasty, but it’s mostly very traditional eggs and toast kind of place. Stefanie is a fantastic server, she was attentive and took very good care of us. I’m sure we’ll be back as a matter of convenience, but it’s not a place I’m anxious to come return to for any special menu offerings or strong coffee (they don’t have that).

My sister, 90 year old mother and I ate there today for lunch. It was wonderful. We had the fried catfish, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and fried okra. For dessert we had coconut pie and chocolate pie. The pies are made in house. Everything was very good and portions are very nice and priced affordably.
Our server was very kind and efficient. We will definitely be back soon, although we do not leave nearby.

The ordering for take out is confusing. You walk in, wait in unorganized area (you and the other customers have to rely on a honor system of who was there first) for the hostess to get to you. For take out they tell you to head to the bar where someone there orders your food and give you the receipt. Which you then take the receipt to the front desk by the door to pay.
Ordered Chicken Fried Steak, Grilled Chicken Breast, and Chopped Sirloin Steak. Chicken Fried Steak was disappointing. The gravy tasted like the ones you make from a packet and the steak itself was salty and tasted of black pepper. The meat wasn't tender either. The Grilled Chicken Breast was dry and the pineapple tasted as if they scooped some canned pineapples and grilled them. Finally the Chopped Sirloin Steak's sauce was not appetizing. It was an odd flavor and didn't go well with the steak at all.

I mean, 5 star experiences should be reserved for awesome vacations and the day your child is born. But this restaurant is comfort food heaven. Isn't that also worth 5 stars?

If you go to this diner on a weekday in the morning it's nothing but retired people. That's where they all meet because they are retired and like breakfast. On Wednesday they have a turkey dinner special that's like a thanksgiving dinner. It was delicious.

I came in with my family on Saturday morning, obviously a busy day. As we walked in, the lady at the front told us to take a seat anywhere—no ‘hi’ or ‘welcome,’ which didn’t feel very inviting. It took a long time for them to give us menus and finally take our order. However, our waiter, Lucy, was very nice and checked in on us frequently. The lemonade was freshly made, sweet, and refreshing. I ordered the chicken-fried steak, but the flavor was just okay, and my hash browns were burned. My mom got the chilaquiles and said her guacamole had a strong garlic taste. My dad’s plate looked the best, and he really enjoyed it. At the end, we paid, but the lady at the front mixed up our receipts and charged me for the wrong order. Fortunately, she was about to void it. Overall, the place is okay—small, but it fits a decent number of people. The first table we sat at was flimsy, but we eventually moved to a better one. The prices were reasonable, around $12 to $14 per plate but the food wasn’t anything special. We came here expecting a charming, old-school diner experience, but it fell short and was just okay.
