Dropped in for the WAN Poetry night and it was awesome! There were quite a few dope poets on the lineup. Ken Jines Comedy and Michael Prince Violin were the headliners. The drinks were great and the DJ set the mood. The hostess was phenomenal and definitely kept the crowd engaged

I visited for an event this year. I used my credit card. Purchased 3 or 4 mixed drinks throughout the night. I was just reviewing my statements for the year and realized that the bartender charged $25 and $50 to my credit card. I’ll never go back to this place.

Best wedding ever! That’s what I kept hearing throughout the night. And I am not just saying that, especially with it being my wedding. Mariana and her team are the A-team. She has a vision and she works with you. Every single detail was perfect. I gave her my vision and she worked with it. Also weddings are expensive, and she worked with our budget and worked with us. Especially when we got into a financial bind. She still worked with us. Very sweet, professional and overall top notch. You will not be disappointed and you will end your night happy, pleased, and will not stop talking about your event for the rest of your life. Also choose the open bar in the package, the bar was lit!!

This place is fantastic! Beautiful courtyard, great martinis in an old home converted into a bar. My only complaint is the parking but I don’t see where they could really make any changes so just arrive early or Uber.

I often go to AvantGarden on Tuesdays for the open mic.
It is a great scene -- from musicians who are having a fun time goofing around to those who are seriously working on their craft. Lots of people being vulnerable sharing stuff that they care about and that is just THEM. I appreciate it a lot.
Usually a good little audience as well, who sometimes contribute during karaoke interludes.
Welcoming to newcomers! If you want to play an open mic in Houston, this might be the one for you!

My partner and I were looking for aesthetically pleasing and queer friendly wedding venues. When we emailed AvantGarden to see if they are comfortable with LGBT weddings, Mariana swiftly replied, “At AvantGarden, love is love.” We went to tour the venue because it was beautiful online and we could not have been more pleasantly surprised by the fact that they do all inclusive weddings! The florals, cake, food, and DJ were all excellent. Pizza, cocktail hour charcuterie and the taco truck were all big hits with our guests. We’re very thankful to Mariana and her team!
