I went on the Friday before Easter, and whileI understand it’s a holiday weekend, it was EMPTY. Truly fewer than 30 people there, and we arrived around 12:45 am. I don’t know what management is doing, but it’s bad. This has been a late night staple for decades, and we were SHOCKED. The music sucked.Derrick the bouncer and his team were great, but the atmosphere and vibe inside were devastating and so terrible. It never occurred to me and the people I went with that it could ever be this bad. It makes me so sad to see this Houston staple falter so epically.

Cool bar and good music. Me and my wife visited for our 1st time and enjoyed everything except our bartender. He wasn't kind and charged my card 2 extra dollars after I left no tip for his unkind behavior. My tab was 18 and my debit card was charged 20. I didn't bother calling to get 2 dollars back lol, it's the principle.

It was 80's night. I was celebrating my birthday. It was a wonderful time. Lots of fun to be had dancing. I felt very safe. The bartenders were on top of things. Would definitely go back for a fun night out.

March 5th 2024: I've been to Barbarellas for sometimes now, prob be the 5th, 6th time..This is the first time I feel so ????The bartenders at the back bar didn't tolerate the fact that I used the wrong card on accident. Complete attitudes and did not let me speak not once. The first bartender snatched the drink out of my hand. The second one did not let me speak once and told me to move and get out of line. I get it, it's busy. But do better. You don't have to lead with an iron fist because honestly it's not that serious.It kinda sucks and definitely made me not to come back. Barbs, I know you can do better.. I've seen it.

This used to be the coolest, most happening dance spot in the entire city. Line out the door every night. After just a couple of years it seriously fell off. The "dj" is the same playlist every night for 5+ years now, and they don't even put it on shuffle Then, for some reason, they decided that hiring the rudest, most antagonistic security known to man was the move. After just a couple of years it became impossible for me to find anyone willing to go here with me; Every single person I knew had been either PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED or harassed by staff here. I tried to tell myself that they must have been belligerent/some other kind of behavior that snowballed into a conflict. Then it finally happened to me Just coming in the door the security people touched me unnecessarily and inappropriately. They didn't even try to pretend like they were patting me down. When I talked to my boyfriend about it he said no one tried to touch him or pat him down when he came in. Which means.....it was probably sexually motivated. Absolutely 100% not okay in 2024! The bouncers were so antagonistic I decided to Google "Barbarella Houston violence." Wow!!! Many, many similar experiences come up! They're even being sued for breaking someone's ankle! If a lawsuit isn't enough to make you change your ways.....going out of business should be. This place is dead 95% of the time now (even weekends) and on its busiest nights only draws maybe 1/4 of the crowd it used to. It's hard to believe that a business owner would choose violence over money....but that's human nature for you Or is it just money laundering

Extremely terrible experience, won't come again ever.I just ordered a $3 cranberry juice, didn't wanna drink alcohol because I have to driving, and after I took two sips, a black man cleaner was very rudely grabbed my juice and poured it into the trash bin, saying that I could only drink alcohol.I didn't understand why he did that so bad, I obviously ordered it from the bar, and didn't bring my own drink at all.Never seen a bar that doesn't allow guests to drink juice sold by their bartenders, it's ridiculous!!!!
Security guards here MOLEST you without consequence. I used to think they did this to everyone then my boyfriend told me that they did NOT pat him down the same. When I tried to alert management they kicked me out. #

My friends I have been coming here for a year and we had no complaints until the last few weeks. I handed the cover charge girl today a, $100 bill for my friend and I. She proceeded to THROW my change on the table and immediately went back to whatever she was watching on her phone. The guy sitting next to her was very nice and he even shook his head as he recognized her behavior. They have been closing at different times then what is on google, Apple Maps, or social media. I consider myself and my friends patrons and we would never place a complaint unless necessary. Thank you
