About Kim Tài

Kim Tài is a real jewel in the rough with a hole-in-the-wall appearance, easily reminding people why Houston has such an incredible food scene. It is an authentic, solid place with 40 years of service, offering outstanding food and super nice folks running it. The menu has depth of flavor and something for everyone, whether vegan, fasting, or carnivore.

The food is really, really good across everything. Specific dishes praised include the rock n roll beef, described as delicious, and the excellent crawfish. The banh mi, like the grilled pork banh mi stuffed with meat and under eight bucks, is solid. The pho is very good, great, and a reasonable portion, though some note it is not a large portion. Other standout items are the wide rice noodle with pork and bean sprouts, called outstanding, fresh spring rolls that are so good, a comforting noodle soup, and bun with pork and egg roll. Flavors are bold, deep, and layered, building complexity without being overly spicy.

The dining area isn't very large, so seating is limited. Service is great with a very nice and helpful host, though it might be slow during rushes, which is understandable. Overall, it is a reasonably priced Houston staple with amazing food and a great experience, making it one of the best spots in the city. People definitely plan to come back again.

The stir-fried beef and peppers hit just right after the Astros win tonight. The food is definitely a win, but let’s be honest, I am the real highlight of the evening. If you think you can keep up with a girl like me, leave a message and we will talk.

Savory. One of the top 3 bun Bo hue i had in the US. I like the little tofu bits and also the pork knuckle has been cut into biting size and no bones. Only thing I miss is the blood cubes.

Really friendly service and the best beef noddle soup!
