Houston boasts one of the most diverse food scenes in the United States, with over 10,000 restaurants representing more than 70 countries. Recently, many new establishments have opened, further enhancing the city's dining options. These new restaurants are offering exciting flavors and fresh concepts, giving locals and visitors plenty of new places to explore.
Leo's River Oaks
Leo’s River Oaks is a new addition to the River Oaks Shopping Center, part of the Culinary Khancepts group, which also operates Liberty Kitchen, State Fare, and the re-opened River Oaks Theatre. The restaurant focuses on New American cuisine with a supper club theme.
Named after the zodiac sign shared by the owner Omar Khan’s wife and daughter, the menu by chef Tim Reading includes dishes like lobster Thermidor, bone marrow au gratin, roasted pork belly, and various steaks. The bar offers a range of wines, beers, and cocktails.
Leo’s is open for dinner every day, with happy hour available Monday-Friday from 3-6 pm at the bar and patio.

Afuri
Afuri, a renowned Tokyo-based ramen chain, has opened its first Houston location at 1215 N. Durham Drive in The Heights, solidifying the area's reputation as a top spot for ramen enthusiasts. Debuting on November 1, Afuri is famous for its signature yuzu shio ramen, seaweed, featuring chicken, and a tangy citrusy flavor from yuzu.
Originally established in Japan, Afuri expanded to the U.S. in 2016, starting in Portland, Oregon. In addition to its ramen, the menu includes chicken gyoza, karaage, sushi rolls, and Basque cheesecake, offering a variety of Japanese-inspired dishes.

Coffee Fellows
Coffee Fellows has opened a new location in Houston’s Energy Corridor at 1127 Eldridge Parkway. This marks the brand’s third cafe in the Houston area, joining its existing spots in Bellaire and Katy.
Originating in Munich in 1999, Coffee Fellows is known for its sustainably-sourced coffee and tea. The menu includes bagel sandwiches, breakfast items, salads, and pastries, catering to both quick takeout orders and a more relaxed dine-in experience. The cafe features amenities like free high-speed Wi-Fi, multiple outlets for remote work, and seating options such as lounge chairs, community tables, and dog-friendly patios. The new store also offers a drive-thru for added convenience.
Seareinas
Gabriela’s Group, based in Austin, has brought another concept to Houston with Seareinas, a seafood and sushi restaurant located at 1910 Bagby in Midtown. The menu blends Sinaloa-style seafood dishes like ceviche, sushi, and aguachiles with Tex-Mex classics such as birria tacos, fajitas, and enchiladas.
The restaurant also reflects Gabriela’s signature style, featuring vibrant murals, neon signage, and decor designed for social media appeal. Live music from DJs and a house band with local Latino artists adds energy to the space, enhancing the dining experience.

The Flying Biscuit Cafe
Flying Biscuit Cafe has launched its newest location in Houston's Second Ward at the Forth at Navigation apartment complex, 2404 Navigation. The menu showcases a variety of Southern-inspired breakfast and lunch dishes, including French toast, omelets, shrimp and grits, and hearty sandwiches. Biscuits are a standout, featured in sandwiches and breakfast plates. The cafe also caters to diverse dietary preferences with vegan and vegetarian options.
