AFURI Houston Heights Reviews
I submitted the food order online at 1:30pm on the Super Bowl Sunday 2/8/26 to be delivered at 5pm with full payment, but the restaurant called me after 4pm and informed me that the business has already closed at 4pm due to Super Bowl. I never received the refund for my payment or the food. The restaurant never sent me the cancellation or refund email either. I am from Japan and very disappointed with the criminal activity of this Japanese. They just took my money and disappeared....read full review
Really good food and drinks. Good atmosphere.
Waiter was nice but slow service. 2 of our items were incorrect. Noodles were good. Drinks were not great. Dumplings were undercooked. Not sure if we will be back.

AFURI Houston Heights offers a memorable ramen experience with a focus on light, flavorful broths and high-quality ingredients. Many reviewers highlight the ramen’s distinct taste, especially praising the yuzu based broth for its light and refreshing flavor, which stands out from traditional ramen. The menu features popular dishes like the brothless yuzu-tsuya Ramen and the Yuzu Shio, both of which receive high praise for their delicious, non-oily, and balanced flavors. The Chicken Karaage is highly recommended, perfectly done with a yuzu flavor that keeps customers returning.
The restaurant’s interior is bright and open, with ample space for families and children, creating a comfortable environment. Service is described as friendly and helpful, though sometimes a bit slow. During weekends, happy hour is available all day, adding value for guests. Appetizers such as gyoza and crispy broccoli are suggested, though some items like Bak Choy and soft shell crab tempura received mixed reviews. The menu also includes sushi rolls, nigiri, chirashi, and rice bowls, providing variety beyond ramen.
Overall, AFURI Houston Heights is praised for its authentic taste, friendly atmosphere, and reasonable prices, making it a top spot for ramen lovers seeking a light, flavorful, and welcoming dining experience.
