We dined here for the first time doing Houston's Restaurant Week. The food was just OK in my party's opinion. They do give you nice size portions. We ordered everything from gumbo to the snapper, seafood, platters, and blackened catfish. The food was kind of bland. Our server was great, and she had a really great attitude, which was pleasant. Our table was already set up when we arrived and that was very nice too. Overall, I will give the restaurant a grade of B-.

Our 1st time dining at Bayou City Seafood and Pasta on Richmond Avenue. Our meals were excellent (Ahi Tuna and Snapper entrees). Portions were properly sized We enjoyed our meal and would come back again !

We caught them at a busy time and service was a little off. I tried the snapper with one of the specialty sauces. It was good, but not great. I will go back to the po-boys next time - theirs are amazingly good as are the fries. I love both the shrimp and oyster po-boys they serve. If you like onion rings - they are really good. The order is large and they are fried perfectly.

I am a regular & entertain clients there often. Food on the last 3 visits has been very salty. Snapper in the last 2 visits was dry and very salty. couldn't really taste the fish. server asked us if we wanted bread and we said yes. He did not tell us that at least one of our meals came with bread. So we paid for bread we did not eat (not a big deal, the server shoul've pointed out that one meal came with bread). service, cleanliness and abiance have always been very good otherwise.

I will say the catfish piece appetizer was good and the portion was good. For our entrees we both got a pasta. The regular portion was $31.99. For what you get with the pasta portions, this seems very steep. The “spicy” crawfish pasta was anything but. It lacked flavor in a style that shouldn't have. Especially since it comes with that “warning”. My husband ate the pasta with shrimp, asparagus, tomato and goat cheese. The shrimp tasted like they were boiled in water and the Roma tomatoes were quartered and therefore didn't really cook and were hard to eat. The goat cheese and asparagus were the stars of that dish. Overall underwhelming.

Food as superb. My wife had the gumbo as an appetizer and the Dale Special for her entree. I passed on appetizers and had the Dale Special also. Food was outstanding but service was beyond slow. We waited for over 20 minutes just to have the waitress acknowledged us. It took jer 5 minutes to bring our water. Food was outstanding but slow service ruined the experience.

In general food is really good , portions are big, Cheyenne meal was tasty and properly spiced, oyster were fresh and gumbo excellent. Service was excellent, cobbler dessert below expectations, too dry and big gummy.

We had a wonderful meal, thanks to help from our server Adam. Dad was in town visiting and requested seafood... he got the seafood combo blackened and I got the pasta liberty blackened and a side Caesar salad, we shared sautéed oysters as an appetizer... yum! Adam helped answer our questions and provided suggestions that made our experience even better. We will absolutely be returning and this is now a new favorite for us!

I really liked the service and ambience of this establishment. The food was pretty good just did not get what I expected but was still tasty(referring to the Dale's special it was more like a soup than I thought). My son ordered the Pasta Zues which was a great dish recommend if you like pasta and saucy dishes. My fiancé ordered the fried catfish which was good but he said that it needed more seasoning. We also ordered the alligator bites as an appetizer which surprised me the most because I enjoyed it. Overall I did like this place and would recommend.

Unfortunately, my review is based purely off of the service and ambiance, as I never actually got to try the food. My boyfriend and I showed up for our 7:15 reservation and were immediately seated, as there was no one waiting and plenty of empty tables. We waited patiently for a server to come take our drink order, or at least tell us that they would be with us shortly, for nearly 15 minutes, but we were not acknowledged by anyone during that time period. After 15 minutes of waiting, we decided to go elsewhere, as the service was clearly going to be a problem. This place charges about $30 per plate. For that price you can go to a restaurant like Hillstone where you will not only have exceptional food but exceptional service as well. Given all of the amazing restaurants in Houston, I would not recommend Bayou City Seafood & Pasta.

The customer service and food was exceptional. The reservation process was easy and out table was ready when we arrived and we was seated right away and our server greeted us within a minute of us being seated by the hostess.

A nice location, an fairly elegant look, and very good food with a decent selection of dishes, leaning towards Louisiana Gulf seafood styles (think blackened fish, gumbo, etoufee, etc.). Perfect for a semi-formal night out.

Food is always great here. Haven't been in about 4yrs. Was sad to hear they didn't have the chocolate bread pudding anymore. But overall still great food and great place to dine.

The food was okay I had the blackened catfish, sweet potato fries and fried pickles for appetizers. The blackened catfish was not seasoned. The food was at least fresh. The server was Chris and his customer service felt rushed when in turn created mistakes with the order; no salt initially on the margarita glass rim took back to correct. Asked when placing the order if we wanted the garlic bread that was supposed to come with the meal but still not brought out with meal. Chris spent a lot of time rushing us to take the order but didn't get the order correct. I used to come here a long time ago before the new building and the service then was just different than the experience had today.

We were seated in what appeared to be a party room. It was noisy being seated by a large group but it server was very nice. I didn't like the martini I ordered but that was remedied by our server.
