“Doctor appointments in Houston mean trying new places! We've been looking forward to trying Pok Pok Po for a few weeks since we saw Shawn the Food Sheep's video review. It did not disappoint! This is the best chicken ever! Look at the seasoning on those fries! My chicken sandwich had an amazing sauce and kimchi on it. Caleb had the chicken nugget basmati rice bowl with kimchi. The side sauces are to die for, and perfectly complemented all we had. PLOT TWIST-- there are two concepts kitchens in one store front!! Pok pok Po shares a space and is the same company/chef as Bōl--a Chipoltle-style Indian food concept. We were able to try a wide sample of their fares including the rice, lamb, cauliflower, potatoes, paneer, pickled onions, avocados, and cucumber salad, airy potatoes crisps, mango Lassi, and samosa. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Staff, manager, and chef take pride in their establishment and value the experience of the customer. Everything there is gluten free (except the burger bun--but make it a wrap or a salad!) And halal, and the chicken is anibiotic free. Everything was spotless, bathrooms were nice and big.Free parking!“

This restaurant is located inside of a Walmart so there was plenty of parking which is always a relief.

My friend and I ordered the following:
6 PC Lemon Pepper Wings w/ fries
6 PC Mango Habanero Wings w/fries
Philly Cheesesteak Meal w/ Strawberry Shake
Ice Cream Cone

Despite it being pretty busy, our order was ready in less than 10 minutes. To start off, the strawberry shake was decent! The ice cream cone was also good but it was a little too soft- the ice cream was already dripping and collapsing when we received it.
As for the food, the wings weren’t bad! The lemon pepper wings naturally maintained its crunchy texture better than the mango habanero wings since it’s a dry rub but both were good nonetheless. Also, the mango habanero wasn’t that spicy (for spice reference, I enjoy eating flamin hot cheetos). Now I’m curious to see if the scorpion sting flavor is really that spicy.
I wasn’t able to try the Philly Cheesteak but my friend said it was good and very filling.
In terms of the fries, I’d recommend getting the Cajun seasoning (it’s no extra charge) since the normal fries lack some salt.“

“Jimmy the manager is amazing. All his staff are very friendly. Busy or not busy you will get the most friendly service food service is amazing. Food very fresh. They all go above there duties to make every customer feel so welcome as family. The food quality is amazing. Jimmy the manager we see him 1 or 2x a week because he and all his staff makes you want to come back for all the great sea food. They are so family friendly here. We’ve eaten at bbq Korean chicken in Austin, Katy, and in the Houston area. Their wings never fail. You can taste their freshness (not the reheated taste)and they are served hot. They’re crispy and the galbi sauce is delicious. The sweet potato fries could’ve been crispy and less burnt. The fried dumplings had great taste and they were fried just right! And oh!! It was cold outside, but they had it closed in and the heaters on. ❤️ Our server was very attentive, checked on us often even though we were out on the patio and the place was crowded. Food was amazing... fried cheese was so good, and that cheese pull 😋 🤌 double meat burger is big enough to be shared. The jumbo chicken strips are huge! Most boba places offer a small snack menu but not this place. they have a large menu to choose from and it's delicious!!!! Even their chicken nuggets were so crispy. “I can’t believe I slept on Pei Wei for this long.

Stopped in recently and tried the Firecracker Tofu bowl and yeah… it did what it needed to do. The tofu was actually crispy (not that sad, soggy situation some places try to pass off), and the spice level had a nice kick without taking me out. I like heat, but I also like tasting my food — this was balanced.

I was pleasantly surprised by how many plant powered options they had. It didn’t feel like an afterthought. You can tell it’s actually part of the menu, not just “here’s plain vegetables, good luck.” I already have my eye on a couple other tofu bowls for next time.

The place was clean, service was easy and friendly, and everything came out quick. Solid experience all around. Definitely adding this into my rotation when I want something fast but still flavorful.

“Charley's came to my life extremely randomly, I have never heard of it until today! I was in Walmart and just got done with doing inventory at all three of my properties, I currently manage in Houston, and I saw this restaurant in the Walmart that I had never seen before. The pictures looked delicious, and I just had to try one of their cheesesteaks. The Walmart I frequent in Atlanta has a Subway inside of it and I'll be honest I am not a fan of Subway, I was starving while shopping then suddenly I was overcome with joy because I got to try a new place.
When I got to the register there was no one in line so I was taking my sweet time making my choices, I ended up going with the classic cheesesteak and a real blueberry lemonade, the cashier was really young and we had a casual conversation while my food was being made.
I got my order and I was so hungry I decided that I was going to eat right then and there. The space was really big, they had plenty of tables and chairs, they actually had a cool backdrop and throne you can take pictures on! It's really cool to see. If I had someone with me, I would have taken a flick.
The food was tasty, I honestly don't know if it was because I had not eaten all day, and my taste buds were heightened, but my cheesesteak tasted a bit salty. Again, in their defense, I worked out and played basketball all day without eating, so that could throw my taste out of whack. With all that being said, the food was good, very filling, I do believe I received an adequate amount of food that I paid for, and that is always something to smile about. Next time, I am going to try their chicken and one of their milkshakes.“
