By far the best donut shop in Houston. Better donuts and better pricing than Shipley's--which was my first donut in life over 50 yrs ago. Christy's keeps it simple and isn't greedy. Been a regular customer since the mid 90's. It's gonna be a sad day when they finally sell out to a Starbuck's type operation--that can pay them $10,000+/month just for that primo corner dirt. Seems like a family-owned / family-run joint... but those rarely last past the 2nd generation. If had any complaints it's' that they aren't open longer... because I'd be stopping by there in the afternoons more often if they were. My recommendation is their cinnamon roll... which--when they're perfect--are a little over-baked... so not too soft and doughy like a more common roll... and with a nicely caramelized sugar / cinnamon glaze. And their donut holes are outstanding as well. If they had 10 locations they'd be killing it even more... but I'm glad they don't... because that would likely distract their attention from being so awesomely amazing as they are.
