Bánh Tét [delicious steamed rice cake for Tết celbrations (Viet Lunar New Year) with savory stuffings of pork, green bean paste & lotus seeds] - Being a loyal client who knows De Viet only use high quality ingredients for their foods, we purchased 15 rolls ($24 ea) for ourselves (2) and gifts to family & friends for Tết Giáp Thìn (Dragon New Year 2024). Everyone complimented that these are the BEST Bánh Tét EVER !!! And much tastier than the ALL the bánh tét (cylindrical shaped) & bánh chưng (square-shaped) sold from Houston Viet stores, churches & pagodas for Tết. We even wished to buy a couple more yesterday for a friend going home to California but De Viet was fully sold out !!!

Bánh bao is not good, smells weird and lacks flavor. I got the salted egg bánh bao. I believe the smell is from them using canned quail eggs. All the hype, very disappointed. I am looking for bánh bao with lots of meat, chewy dough, not too salty but has flavor, not too much dough, and fits my hand. Their bao meets all the criteria except the most important, flavor. For once I would say, you need to add salt or chicken bullion and oyster sauce in your bao. This bánh bao is good if you are really really hungry and have nothing else to eat.

I stumbled upon De Viet Kitchen while on the hunt for the perfect place to order Mooncakes for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival. Although the prices were a tad higher than I had initially hoped for, the selection and size of their Mooncakes made up for it. De Viet Kitchen offers unique flavor combinations and ingredients that I couldn't find anywhere else. Aside from mooncakes, which are available 2-3 weeks before the festival, up until the weekend of the Festival, they offer a wide variety of small bites, snacks, pastries, and authentic Vietnamese dishes. I ended up leaving with the Scallop Combination and Traditional Combination Mooncakes and the BBQ Pork and Mushroom Chicken steamed buns. The owner, who was incredibly sweet and hospitable, even took the time to explain the significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival to my partner, cherry-on-top for our experience. The food was not only delicious but also authentic, plus the service was top-notch. I can't wait to come back and try other items on their menu.

Ordered pate chaux and cream puffs (their recommendation) for finger food for a graduation party. Holy moly they were both delicious! Cream was super fresh and filling for pate chaux was flavorful. Will be getting other catering items here next time! Service was great too...they're always nice.

This place is seriously good, care about what they do and their customers.Their salted egg spongecake is probably the best I have had. The spongecake is very eggy, soft, fluffy and remains so in the fridge for ~ 3 or more days - I was surprised I didn't need to warm it up from the fridge at all. Salted egg spongecakes tend to be dry in most places but not this one. Their sauce is also soooo good and I wish there was more of it on the cakeTheir buns are great. Very fluffy, slightly sweet outside, tasty and good ratio of fillings for the savory ones. If you dont like the yeast smell in bao buns then I can't recall smelling it so that's good.Their durian buns are so, so good though. They are not too sweet, you can smell and taste the durian but it's not overpowering. If you like strong durian taste like my family then it's light, but for me that's perfect. Their dough is even better than the savory ones, like it's so fluffy and nearly cakey without being dry.Their dough and pastry are serious good across the board. I also love, love their pate chaud, which are light, flaky, holds their crisp with a really nice peppery chunky meat pate/gravy like fillings. They are soo, sooo good. I don't like big doughy heavy pate chaud and these are perfect.Their sticky rice I think is only available on Friday has 2 or 3 options and they are also really good. The sauces that go with them are so, so tasty. I refrigerated the chicken intestine and unlaid eggs and the eggs + sticky rice remain great, the intestine was a bit drier and chewier than what I like but I also fridged and microwaved them up pretty hard.Overall highly recommend this place.

If there is 10 stars, I will pick that. I am not Vietnamese but everything in the menu never disappoint me. My new addiction is the Chicken Feet Thai Salad. I did not know that chicken feet can taste so...good....Always fresh ingredients from this store and thank you for making your customer happy.

So finally I decided to try this place out on Sunday. I bought the chicken sandwich and chicken immature egg sticky rice.First off, the chicken sandwich is a huge disappointment, bread was dry and the chicken tasted so sweet, I mean sugar much??Next is the sticky rice, oh boy, the chicken intestine smells so bad and all dry up I had to take them out which was nothing left beside the fried peanuts and the shredded chicken so after 3 bites, I gave up on it.

Excited about the famous moon cakes and steam buns. I sure enjoyed them very much. All fresh ingredients and lots of surprises inside. They took good care of each dish. Just gotta love them.

This is my new favorite spot for Vietnamese food in Houston. Basically, i ate most of the items on their menu and love them all. Their best item is Xoi Ga. Simply the best Xoi Ga in Texas.

I tried their salted egg yolk sponge cake and I am OBSESSED! Literally the best of one kind. Their buns are also very good. I just wish they didn’t close on Monday and open up a branch here in North cause it’s such a pain everytime I need to drive down there. The owner was very welcoming and friendly :)
