My time here was very short lived, unfortunately. My cousins and I walked in, sat down, and attempted to order margaritas. Everyone brought out their IDs and were immediately shot down because they were from out of state. Which is confusing, because how does the company address tourism? The manager came out and said it was “company policy”. Additionally, I’d like to note that we were the ONLY African American group in the entire restaurant. We left without disruption or causing a scene, even though it was warranted. We will not be back!

Food is mid and super overpriced. The drinks are always very expensive and not worth it. I would not suggest this place at all.

I ate here on New Year’s Day. Food was expectations. So was the service. But what stood out was the integrity of this restaurant. I left my wallet full of cash near the bar. The manager Lupita picked up my wallet (over 1K in cash) and I just happened to call right before they walked out that night! And she reassured my wallet was locked a way. This restaurant is ran with integrity. In Houston. That’s hard to find. Thank you to the bar staff and Lupita for running a great operation. I will always come back for that alone.

Had a late lunch with a friend. It was my first time at this location, and I will NOT be returning. The food was good, but the service was questionable.

The server rolled his eyes when I asked for clarification about the differences between ingredients in my order, as if I was expected to already know. Additionally, while I understand that servers are supposed to check in on tables, the frequency felt excessive (especially given that there were people at about ten tables in the restaurant). The repeated check-ins every few minutes came across as rushed, as if we were being pushed to leave.

My friend and I were in the middle of a conversation and were repeatedly interrupted to ask whether the food was good. Yes, it was, but it would have been nice to enjoy a meal and a conversation without constant interruptions.

I’ve always enjoyed dining at El Tiempo, but I do NOT recommend eating at this location.

Great food (lunch menu), great service, and santa for the kids. Had the carnitas quesadilla, side of refried beans and lime rice. Margarita, half frozen, half rocks was very tasty!

My family and I dined at this location recently. Upon ordering drinks, our waitress asked us what type of tequila we would prefer. Relying on her recommendation and trust, we went along with her suggestion unknowing that she had upsold us a very expensive tequila. My one Ranch Water was $31.00, and a family member’s one margarita was $33.00. We were completely stunned when we received the bill. We had been duped. My drink was some kind of concoction of a Ranch Water. It was very sloppily made and very weak. I sent a comment through the company’s “contact us” webpage and have gotten no response. Besides the drinks debacle, the fajitas and sides were very mediocre. The corn tortillas were not homemade, and they were barely big enough to make a fajita taco.

Food and service ok. Beef filet fajitas were substituted for the cheaper beef and waiter could not be found.

This place is great. The regular and the filet mignon fajitas are marinated delicously and are as flavorful as a perfectly cooked succulent steak. The corn and flour tortillas are not mass produced. They definitely are made in house by abuelitas (Grandmothers). Very shareable. 4 of us ate off the Wednesday special.
