Very disappointed, I usually order ceviche and I upgrade to medium or large, and now they are filling up with veggies only, my whole ceviche is mostly peppers, tomatoes and onions.

This El Tiempo Cantina was okay. The wait staff was very attentive, and actually maybe too attentive. We were trying to have uninterrupted conversation over lunch and they came by literally 12 times to ask if things were okay when we just wanted to talk. Otherwise, the food was okay, and that's the real reason for 4 stars instead of 5, because the atmosphere is excellent and again, they were very friendly.

So sad to not be able to give a 5 star review from my last visit tonite! Our waiter in the back front area Failed to check on us enough- we waited on water and water re-fills!!! waited on re- filling margaritas! Good was great but service below par! And WHERE was floor manager checking on things- NEVER saw her til we left and I reported bad service- I Asked where was floor manager and she said “ I am the manager” - totally not how this Used to be run!! You will lose your patrons with this service!

Fantastic food, as always.

Would be a 5 star review but the service level varies by location. At the Washington location the staff boxes leftovers for you but gessner leaves the to go boxes for the customer to box. No big deal but does affect the tip. Excellent nonetheless.

In my opinion not authentic mexican.. sauce tasted like chili sauce. The appetizer was good but thar was it. Compared to other Mexican restaurants it ranks low but others may like it but I did not. Service was very good

Good service and great atmosphere but the food was not good. The chicken enchiladas tasted like a chili dog but with chicken instead of a hotdog. The carne guisada was horrible and the sauce was worse. The chicken fajitas was blan. The beef fajitas were not bad. The best item that we ate was the appetizer chili con queso with ground beef. We should have ordered 4 large ones instead of the food items we did. I would not suggest this place because of the food. Los Tios is down the road and you can thank me later.

What a great experience! We are from Montana and we had the nicest people serving us tonight. Mario and two others were so attentive, kind, and ready to help us with everything we needed. Great atmosphere and great food. The tortilla was the highlight of my evening! Highly recommend.

This take out queso costs $18.00. Look at the picture. They do shot like this all the time. Sleepy, nickel and dimming. Honestly, what does anything else matter, when you being ripped off? I’m

Nut allergy friendly: No issues with my order.

HEB was providing coupons for a buy-one-get-one-free BOGO entree at El Tiempo for January, so I decided to hit a few El Tiempos around Houston. I avoided any inside the loop because of the required valet parking. This was my first El Tiempo to visit.

Time to Margaritas: 15 Minutes
Time to Entree: 25 Minutes

We arrived at around 7:00PM on a Thursday evening and there was reasonable parking here. The staff were very accommodating in finding us a table with an outlet for charging my laptop.

Coupon interpretation: This El Tiempo let us order anything except fajita plates, which was in alignment with the coupon. We were allowed to order margaritas to fulfill the drink requirement.

Margarita (4/5): I got a frozen mango margarita as I usually do. The margaritas are relatively consistent at El Tiempo and they do a nice floater of tequila. This one had some chunks of mango and ice that clogged my straw a bit more, but it was still pretty good.
Full Chicken Quesadilla (4/5): Definitely huge. We both ordered this and both took home half as leftovers. I found the chicken a tad dry, and I'm disappointed that they don't include guacamole for the price.

I paid via inKind with no issues. You have to manually write in your check total instead of using a check number, and then the wait staff will take a photo with their phone so don't close the screen (or take a screenshot yourself).

Overall, a solid tex-mex staple of Houston that remains quite pricey. Suggest checking for coupons or using inKind for a discount.
