Elro is a restaurant situated in a less than ideal location - however it is very cute inside and the service we received was wonderful. Cocktails/beer were delicious. The food was the main thing that was lacking in my opinion -
The scamorza and mushroom pizza lacked an element to cut the smoky flavors. The actual dough was legit and flavorful.
The bruschetta with giardiniera was just okay.
Lastly, the green apple sorbet was incredible and was a nice ending to an otherwise just okay meal. I don't think we'll return, but we were grateful for the service we experienced.
Parking: Looks like there's free parking and also a paid $10 valet.

This was last Saturday we drove all the way to the area to try another Italian place and that was a failure, we jump into research and found this one and since the moment we arrive the service was great, make you feel welcome, I ask our waiter for something to drink that can boost my sugar level as I felt it was getting really low and no fountain drinks but they do have Mexican Coke, and some other bottle sodas including one of my favorite Blood orange, but I asked for a Lemonade and they did come thru with one even tho was not on the menu, it was quite good and with a touch of sparkling soda that surprised me, we sat on a table across from the bar and saw the interaction of the workers preparing drinks and felt like they all care for excellence making sure the drink they were preparing was done to perfection, saw them criticize and the bartender said ok let me start from the beginning and repeated the whole process and this time all 3 were happy with the result and took it to the table outside, me and my Italian friend order the same pizza the mortadella it was great, the flavor was very good but the best part of the experience was the pizza Doug we have outside information before we came here from another Italian friend the are one of the places in Houston that can prepare the real Italian pizza Doug, over all the place is nice great decoration and the food great, and for dessert we order the Tira-miso something different not your normal tiramisu but their version of it we like it. Price it is standard for a good late lunch experience in a Saturday afternoon, will come back soon with my wife, forgot to take fotos as my sugar level was low but next review will have pictures
Parking: We parked on the side street not realizing they have a huge parking lot across the street so parking it’s not an issue

Plans to eat at another pizza restaurant were foiled due to lack of reservations on our part so we opted to eat at Elro due to it's proximity to our rental. The entire staff was extremely inviting and knowledgeable of the menu (and gave advice on what to do in Houston). Despite Asian fusion restaurants being extremely prevalent, and in my opinion, somewhat trite, the menu items that we ordered (vegan caesar, burrata, guanciale pizza) we're well conceptualized and executed. The vegan caesar utilized strips of toasted seaweed (guessing this was the stand in for anchovies) and sesame seeds and translated well to a traditional caesar experience. I was also very surprised to learn that the fresh, house made burrata was covered in a house made chili oil/crisp, and not some "off-the-shelf" Lao Gan Ma approximation. The pizza dough was thin and crispy, yet still toothsome. The guanciale was face meltingly fatty, yet crispy enough to impart a little crunch/chew as well. We wouldn't hesitate to come back.

I get the sourdough bruschetta with prosciutto or the chorizo pizza. Rich and delicious flavors in both. Also, a very well curated wine list. Oh, and really great valued happy hour!

No dogs on the patio when there is no one there. This place sucks.
Doing it all ain’t enough.
Great atmosphere - neat design. But why no pasta on the menu? Only starters and pizza, even though it’s labeled “Italian restaurant”. Why not label “pizza restaurant”? Controversial opinion, but I find it misleading.
Pizza tasted great though. And can also recommend the tuna on toast

First off, they did a great job with the aesthetic of the place. Loved that there was plenty outdoor dining space. The service was good, our waiter was very attentive and the food came out fast. The menu was small but everything we had was delicious. Must try the spicy cucumbers as an appetizer! I’ve had pizza in Italy and this one tasted authentic. For dessert we had the panna cotta and both my husband and I were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I definitely recommend and will certainly be back!

This may be the most overrated place in the neighborhood. We live walking distance and we’re excited to try this place once we moved into the neighborhood. Overall experience was extremely disappointing. The pizza was soggy and pretty unappealing and my cocktail felt unbalanced and tasted too strongly of anise.
Spicy cucumbers were the star of the show which should tell you all you need to know.
I really want to give them another chance but if you mess up pizza, I’m not sure if you deserve one.

Houston lacks quality restaurants and I have eaten in major cities all over the world.
Elro, is one of the few that got it right.
I wish more people could recognize and appreciate good ambiance, delicious food, and excellent service. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely beautiful place, gorgeous decor, plenty of seating inside and outside. Parking can be a bit tricky though. The service was on point and the food was delicious. I do wish that the menu had a bit more but everything was great.
