I should have read the reviews before I came because my experience was horrible. I understand money talks and this is what this club is all about. My family came to visit and we decided to give this club a chance. When I spoke with the promoter he forgot to tell me some of the key points of the bottle service. There is a $200 deposit and a minimum of purchase depending on the section you get. We decided on the $500 min and I guess this was the cheap section cause when we got there it was literally a small bench. When we sat down the bench came a part. Our waitress acted all slow and we had to demand a manager to come over. Once she came over she had some workers to come over to fix it and offered us a free bottle of cheap champagne. So after that situation the waitress comes back to tell me my card declined. I was so confused because I put $700 on the cash app card to pay for the remaining which I was told it would be $500. I asked how much she charged and she said $881 I'm like wtf did you charge me for she had her breakdown and she said they charge a gratuity of 20% on each bottle and a 4% fee for using a card to purchase. I was like nope nope nope. At this point Me and my group irritated because there was nothing VIP about the section we had and random people just walking up to our booth (bench) sitting down. So we decided to leave and I asked for a refund of my deposit. I was told I needed to talk to the promoter he came out and tells me more lies. He said he couldn't give the entire deposit but he would refund via cash app it has been 3 days and he want answer my calls or text. At this point he can have the $200 but this is no way to run a business. My advice stay away from this club and go to the address or any club in houston cause this is not it!!!!!!!!!

The Engine Room is the most horrible club/business I have ever been to in my life. If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. The staff outside was rude and all over the place. They looked and were unprofessional. We spent hundreds of dollars for my nieces birthday party to find out 2 guys in our party that were 20 years of age could not come in to join the celebration. Which one guy was my nieces boyfriend. And after speaking previously to staff that approved their entry back doored and changed their mind. They claimed the men couldn’t enter although their website says if you have a section you can still get in if you are 18. They explained only the women can get in under 21 because of the bottle service in sections. This is sexist. Either way it goes male or female they would still be under the legal age limit to drink. Half of the party left. The manager was rude and looked like a unprofessional homeless man. I will not beg anyone to take my money. We just went and gave our money to another more welcoming club nearby. Thank you but no thank you. Don’t go here.

YIKES. WORST CLUB EXPERIENCE EVER. ZERO STARS! Staff was completely unfriendly. It was free to get in until 11PM, we arrived at 10:15.. they made us wait until 11 to get in and then they charged us $20 a piece, made us go the ATM which was broken, so he suggested we CASH APP him..... THAT $ DID NOT GO TO THE CLUB. It went to $biggboyy1979 LOL. D*** us. Then we were charged $40 for two Xsmall vodka drinks.... Overall no one was dancing, everyone standing around, was not LIT AT ALL. All these reviews are bad.... sad because this could be a really cool spot.

This place is a joke. Got bottle service and had horrible service, took 45 minutes to get our bottles after being sat in a horrible section for 4 people even though we had 12. "Tables" have holes in the couches. Complete dump

Worst club I ever went to I payed $200 for a section for my 18th Birthday. It was the first club I been to so I had no idea you had to buy a bottle of wine for $240 more per bottles and they wanted me to buy 2.I should of been informed of the cost ahead time. It was a wasted $200. Me and my guest were kicked out of the section by very rude people. My $200 was non-refundable. I would not recommend this club to anyone. I am looking into my legal rights to try and get my money back.

$20 cover charge not worth it. No dance floor. Ridiculous drink prices! Dj skipped through songs way too fast!

The engine room is OK. I've been there about 2 times and it was always the same. I've been both of a Friday and Saturday. The parking is self parking but they charge you $20. To get in for women it's $20 and for males $30 on a GOOD DAY because they have tried to charge me $40 before and I just refused to go. The bathrooms are quite digussing and they need to update them immediately. It's always crowded though so that's a good thing. Women have to wear heels or they won't let you in. There isn't much dance room because it's full of sections. The club is ghetto and the crowd is predominantly black Americans. Like i said this club is ok but it wouldn't be my first option.

Personally, I've been here a couple of times. One time I paid $40 to get in (no biggie)

SCAM......I PAID THE ENGINE ROOM FOR A SECTION AND TWO BOTTLES FOR MY BIRTHDAY WHEN I GOT THE THE CLUB NOT ONLY DID THEY SAY I DID NOT HAVE A SECTION BUT THE BOTTLE PRICES WENT UP AND MY PEOPLE HAD TO PAY TO GET IN...THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I REPORTED THIS SO CALLED BUSINESS TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. ENGINE ROOM DOES NOT EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR...

Nice area and the VIP sections are nice. There was good music all night and the crowd was energetic. I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

This has been the WORST club in Houston that I tried to get to. I had on tennis shoes last night(I'm a female). the reason I had the tennis shoes on last night is because I had been working all day. my nephew told me last minute that they would have a section at this club the engine room. When I got there I pulled up to the front and I asked him if I could come in with tennis shoes on. At first they told me I would have to pay $20 but I told them that I was not going to be there long and I was only going to be there with my nephews who has a section just to tell them happy birthday. They told me okay that I would have to get in line with them to come in the club. Cool. I got in line with my nephew who had the section in their club and they put the band on me check my ID and when I got to the front they told me I still had to pay $20 to get in because I had on tennis shoes. Really? $20 just because I have on tennis shoes why? I don't understand what kind of sense that makes. That was pure discrimination towards me because I guess I wasn't half dressed in 30 degree weather. or I didn't have weave hanging down my back? Or a dump load of make up on? I understand that clubs have certain policies that they have to follow but why do I have to pay $20 because I have tennis shoes on. If that's the case just tell me I can't come in. Not only that I was in line with one of my nephews friends and they discriminated against him because number one he was white and they claimed that he was drunk. He was not drunk. He had not even had a drink that was the purpose of him going into the club to have a drink. And the officer that was standing up there told him that if TABC comes in and sees that he's drunk they're going to be in trouble. Well that's stupid as hell because you failed alcohol at your Club so nine times out of 10 and you're going to have drunk patrons in your Club. If I was him I would sue them for discrimination. The bouncers or security guards that's at the front of the club are rude as hell. I don't know who the short heavy-set black bouncer is but he is on a power trip. I guess this is his first time being in authority and he's using it to the best of his ability because he was very rude. That's why black folks can not get ahead because because they get a little Authority or position over somebody and think they can talk to people any kind of way. That's not how that works I will never go back to this club and I would never recommend anybody to go to this club. Y'all need to make some changes. If y'all want to go to a club or y'all are not judge by what you're wearing if you want to go to a club comfortable with a track suit and Tennis Shoes on I suggest you go to the address 5015 or any other club besides the engine room. they judge you by what you have on. I'm a thirty-five-year- old woman who knows the law and knows how things are supposed to be handled. Last night they did not handle a lot of situations the way that they were supposed to. As long as this club has been around it's a shame that they act the way that they do. I don't recommend anybody going to this club. My nephew said it was wack as hell anyway
