I was hoping for a great experience here. However , left disappointed. I ordered the Chicken and Fish. (The best Chicken in town ) that’s a stretch. However the fish was go. It took a long time for my food to come out. Without a side. Paid my bill still no side. Once, I received it. I explained I didn’t like it. Could have another dish. Do you know they wanted to reopen my ticket and charge a $1.50 per the owner. Don’t ever worry about me or me recommending anyone to here. Support Black Business they say. You lost a potential repeat customer over a $1.50. Poor Service. Slow Service. Keep you chicken and fish.

Top 3 fried chicken in Houston!!! Probably top 5 all time. I found Gatlin's through an Instagram post, and they had really consistent reviews about their fried chicken. Being from North Carolina, I had to see for myself.

Believe it or not the biscuits were the star of the show. They were homemade and heavenly!! The honey butter, bacon jam, and strawberry spread were to die for and paired amazing with the perfectly baked biscuits. The F&F Fried Chicken (white meat) was the best choice I could've made. The chicken was seasoned extremely well, juicy, and the skin had a perfect crunch and crispiness to it. It was sensational. To top it off the Sangria was delicious and I appreciated the frozen peaches as ice for the cocktail. It was well made and refreshing. The creamed corn was not my favorite, but the greens and Mac n cheese were solid.

The interior of the restaurant reminded me of a classic diner with clean, elegant touches. Service was good. Certified 9.5/10!!

This restaurant has some of THE BEST FOOD, but unfortunately THE SERVICE STINKS!!!!! On our very first visit our waitress forgot to place our order and didn’t come back to check on us after I asked her to bring my husband a biscuit because he had not eaten. Well, after an hour another waitress asked if she could assist us and she was great! My husband wanted to give it another chance because this place is black-owned. Needless to say we received the exact same waitress (black w/blonde wig) with the same lousy service. When asked could we change staff we were told that table was the only one available. I hate to say…SAME LOUSY SERVICE. I wished management were more focused on the repeat business. WE’RE DONE

Absolutely love this place, drove from Katy to check out this restaurant and I have already made my second visit within a month! 🙂🙂 Oh and to mention they have amazing customer service and very knowledgeable staff.

The food was amazing. I really appreciated the calm atmosphere. We could actually hear each other speak. The staff and owner were friendly as well. I will definitely be going back.

I went here on date and we both agreed to not come back. The service was absolutely amazing and the server was tentative. But the food was not for me. The chicken was bland. The fish was bland. The biscuits were good. The sides were good but it was unfair for them to be the star of the plate.

This place was awesome. I loved everything about this place. The food was great and the service was exceptionally fantastic 👌. The owner was working and leading by example, which I absolutely love.

Not a Celebrity? Don't Expect Good Service —— We were excited to try this place, but the experience was disappointing. It was slow when we arrived, and another group who came in after us (and were apparently “famous” and visiting from another country) got special treatment—greeted by the chef and served much faster. They finished eating before we even got our food, which arrived cold. When I brought it up, the server brushed it off. We came from across town looking forward to a good meal, but left feeling overlooked and unvalued. Not okay

Had a great experience with family and friends. The food was good and the staff were very nice and friendly. The owner was also in the restaurant, helping with the kitchen and guests and it was good to see. I would recommend others to visit!

Excellent establishment. Our waitress, Laurie was phenomenal, made us feel like family. Of course we tried the fried chicken and the biscuits and IT LIVES UP TO IT'S NAME as being the best in the area. Food across the board was delicious and fresh. The BBQ shrimp was superb. We also spoke to the owner, who is extremely personal and friendly. High recommend visiting this place. As “out-of-towners” we were pleased.

Biscuits could win a world championship of biscuits, spectacular biscuits! Fried chicken and gumbo are very good just a tad on the salty side. Parking is tight but available.

Another repeat customer! This is hands down some amazing, fresh, cooked to order food!! Not sure what you're waiting for but get to F & F now!

We had grilled oysters, fried catfish & oysters with sides of Cole slaw and creamed corn. Thanks to toppings, the grilled oysters were a bit dry. The fried catfish were overly coated to my taste. The fried oysters were quite good as was cole slaw. I stopped eating the creamed corn, advertised as house speciality, after one bite. Service was a bit slow, but very good overall. The above comments are likely driven by personal taste rather than absolute quality, as the restaurant was well patronized with people who were obviously enjoying themselves.

The customer service and food was really good. I will be returning for the biscuits with all of the jams, chicken, fish and you absolutely can't go wrong with any of the sides. Happy Eating 😊.
