My Italian wife swears by George's pizza. I agree that it's good. The pasta dishes are decent but insanely over-priced. If I'm gonna pay $26 for meatless pasta, the pasta better be handmade and not covered in pizza sauce. The pasta is not handmade. The pasta served to me was under-cooked and stuck together. The dishes I've had there fall short of what other restaurants serve at George's prices. The servers are attentive and friendly. George doesn't honor veterans with 10% off like more than half of the restaurants, including the expensive, anf better Italian restaraunts do at his prices.

Had a very odd experience here and not sure how it has such high reviews.
Waiter was a bit weird
Garlic bread was dry
Spinach ravioli were cold on rims and hot on inside(frozen likely) topped with a lot of garlic
Salad was basic
Pizza wasn't great either
Won't ever be back

I had been looking forward to dining at the restaurant. The server was courteous. However, the food was a letdown - I ordered the daily special, which featured chicken with pasta. Unfortunately, the chicken was overcooked and lacked flavor, while the pasta was mushy, and the sauce was applied excessively. The experience fell short of my expectations. On a positive note, the garlic bread was delicious.

Quality food in a nice atmosphere but it can get busy. Not the cheapest place but you get good quality and the food is worth the price. Nice selection of wines.

Ok George you don’t know me but back in the 80’s I was one of your competitors….. no, not Pizza Roma but I was friends with Rich even though he was also a competitor. Anyway, when you were almost open after moving to Dairy Ashford one Sunday morning I was driving by and saw you so I decided to stop and introduce myself. Wow! You were a real jerk to me, so I left without introducing myself to you. But don’t worry, I can’t say much cause I have a mouth on me too. I can probably be a bigger jerk than you.
Anyway , my mom and I have been your customer since you opened there. And I don’t even like pasta etc. … only occasionally. One of those times was today. I want you to know I was promptly greeted by a tall dark hair guy who was very friendly got a salad and spaghetti to go. It’s enough to feed me for a week. I really enjoyed it and will have the rest tomorrow. I don’t like the higher prices. But they are every where you go now.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know we enjoy your food. Too bad you’re not around any more . One day I’ll catch you there and finally introduce myself. I remember when you opened Rich from Pizza Roma and I made a bet on how long you would make it…well you out did both of us by years….congrats!

The place is nice and the waiter treated us well. The food was decent. However, what really ruined the appetite for my wife was seeing one of the employees sitting at the bar with his feet on the chair and without shoes. That was very unpleasant.

1st time there, literally couldn't finish the spaghetti I ordered, the sauce was not fresh. Paid my bill and left. Very disappointed.

As I said many times, best Italian food place in Houston. I tried a lot of places, I don't know how George's Pastaria do it, but I always come back. Rigatoni Campagnolo is my absolute favorite! Cappuccino here is also just amazing 😍

George’s Pastaria never disappoints! The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love — you can taste the difference. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauce was rich and delicious, and everything came out hot.
The service was just as great — friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a cozy meal with friends or family.
Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to when I’m craving good Italian comfort food!
