Ramen Bar Ichi provides a relaxed atmosphere with excellent food, especially the spicy ramen with chicken. The service is fast and efficient, making the overall experience pleasant. The restaurant has a low-key, chill vibe with Japanese greetings from the staff. Its cozy space is ideal for groups, offering quick and accurate service. The menu features a selection of soups and customizable options, along with appetizers like takoyaki and karaage. The ramen is known for its generous portions of pork chashu and bamboo in flavorful broth. Customers praise the quality of the ramen, particularly the Tonkotsu and spicy tonkotsu, which have rich flavors and hearty toppings. The soft, gooey yolk adds a touch of sweetness that many enjoy.
Additionally, Ramen Bar Ichi has become a favorite spot for vegetarian ramen lovers, with kale noodles cooked perfectly and a flavorful broth complemented by fried lotus roots and mushrooms. The takoyaki is highly recommended and considered one of the best around, with prices around $6 for six pieces. While some customers compare Ramen Bar Ichi to other ramen spots, it stands out for its delicious offerings like karaage and gyoza. The restaurant also offers a good selection of sakes, beers, and cocktails. Overall, Ramen Bar Ichi excels in delivering delicious ramen and a friendly atmosphere, making it a top choice for ramen lovers in West Houston.
