We stopped at Hubcap Grill in the Houston Hobby airport during a recent layover while traveling home. It is about par for what you'd expect from an airport hamburger/beer bar. It took awhile to be seated because the hostesses up front could not handle the amount of diners showing up. Plenty of open seating in the restaurant, the hostesses were simply moving slowly. The service was decent. Angela was our waitress, and she did a good job. The food was decent enough as well. The grilled chicken salad was fresh and ample for a meal. The chicken wings were a bit undercooked and fatty for us, but the buffalo sauce was good. All in all, a decent meal in a crowded airport. We try to avoid airport food, but this was an extended delay day at the airport. Hubcap Grill is decent food if you need to each at Hobby Airport.

Service was terrible. 3 people got their order after I ordered. 2 of the 3 were exactly what I ordered. All I can say is at least they refunded my purchase price.

We were quickly seated, our order was taken but then we were abandoned. All servers and employees seem to be watching TV, talking amongst themselves and oblivious that they work in an airport where perhaps customers might need to catch a flight.

Ordered wings with blue cheese and chicken strips. The blue cheese had zero blue cheese and zero flavor. The chicken strips were ice cold. I would not eat here again.

Expensive. Not a restaurant by any means. Very Small portion sizes and food served on paper plates with plastic cutlery. Restaurant prices for LESS than fast food quality. Low quality food as well, wouldn’t expect this at any food establishment, I would expect this at a family picnic, nothing more. Not everything is bigger in Texas.

Our server Britini had a hard time with our requests. We started out with two sparkling waters and got one. Once that error was corrected we ordered the chicken tenders basket with may for the fries and a side salad. While she brought the mayo, Britini replaced the fries with the side salad. So no fries for us. The tenders tasted like an industrially produced product and we didn't finish them. Instead if three large pieces we got five shriveled dry pieces. The salad was wilted. So, yes, the water was the best.

We had multiple hours to spare at the airport and were looking for a sit down place where the prices were not insane but expected. We were sat right away but noticed that the server had been what we call “Quadrouple sat”. She was very busy but she still did a great job at managing the work load and luckily we were in no hurry. We ordered a local wheat beer which was delicious! We got the spicy chicken sandwich and the black and blue burger. The server warned us that the kitchen was running behind so we knew it would be a little bit longer for our food but it was not too bad. The portion size of the sandwiches are not large. But they are just enough to perfectly fill you up. The fry portions however where huge. We ordered dipping sauces with our burger/chicken/fries but it did not come until a little bit later but we understood since someone else brought our food and our server was busy. At least we did get it though. The bill all in (food+tip) came out to $60 for 2 people. The theming of the hubcaps on the wall was interesting and they had some tv’s playing sports too. There is a bar you can sit at as well. Overall our meal did exactly what we needed.

Had the chicken ranch sandwich and fries. Food was fine, no issues. Service was terrible, very very slow, no refills. Half the tables open but people standing in line for seats. Wont return

Ate here during a layover expecting a great chicken sandwich like we used to get when the restaurant was Poppas Burgers. Instead we received an overpriced, small, dry piece of chicken on a sandwich that consisted mostly of bread. The fries were soggy and undercooked and the service was not what it used to be. Many workers were just standing around getting drinks for themselves from the soda machine. We spent over $40 on these awful chicken sandwiches and was extremely disappointed. Save yourself some money and walk to the other terminal to Chick Fil A if you want a chicken sandwich. They are cheaper with a much better product.

We ordered the All American breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns and rye toast. The plate was luke warm and cool in spots, toast and sausage were ice-cold. Coffee was hot. The scrambled eggs came out of a carton and were plastic and watery, even Tabasco sauce didn’t help. The server was very good but that doesn’t make up for the bad food. Will not return and wished we would have eaten elsewhere inside Hobby Airport.

Super great service and atmosphere. Our server she was amazing, was on top of everything and made sure to check if we needed any refills before we even finished. Would recommend to anyone traveling thru Huston airport .Super great service and atmosphere. New spot after the recent changes in restaurant management for Hobby Airport restaurants. Still need to get somethings right. Out of chicken sandwiches are 6:40 pm (found out 20 minutes after ordering). Mistakes in order. To be honest, they did comp the meal because of the delays and mistakes.

Was hungry for lunch while waiting for my flight. I ordered a cheeseburger with fried onions, French fries and diet soda. Food was delicious and service great.

Service-4 Got my order on quickly. FOOD 3- Burger-dry and gritty. (Skimped on the cheese-not with the extra$$). all served on yesterday’s dry bun. Ok in a pinch when your flight is delayed by 9 hours.

We had breakfast here while waiting for our flight as it was almost across from our gate. We ordered and shared the breakfast bowl which our waiter recommended. It consisted of a huge bed of tater tots covered with cheese, bits of sausage & bacon and topped with an egg. It was enormous and greasy. We were glad we shared as we could not even finish it. I am sure the calorie count and carb numbers are over the top and we would not order it again!
