I went to this place on November 12th I ordered the catfish and shrimp dinner with fries. I paid cash for my order she rang it as credit card and I was charged a surcharge of 4% when I asked why I was charged that the girl on the register said she didn't know why. So I asked the manager and he said you paid with credit card I stated no I paid cash. This establishment refused to give me the difference from credit card to cash and argued with me. I did not get my money either. So make sure they don't charge you 4% when you pay cash and act like they don't know why the register did that. What a rip off.

Walked in not knowing what to expect. Was greeted by the lovely cashier. Very welcoming restaurant was clean and tidy. We ended up ordering the big jeaux burger, a cup of gumbo and the pasta lashell.
Everything came out hot and fresh and was much better than we anticipated! Everything was full of flavor and tasted fresh. We will be back!

Called in 30 minutes for a pick up and completely forgot my order so I came in thinking my food was ready and started preparing it. The fool looked quite good but it was over seasoned and salty. I honestly won’t be eating here again. It’s just not good.

Gumbo Jeaux’s: Where Good Food Goes to Die
Let me start by saying I went in hoping for Louisiana comfort food. What I got was a culinary disappointment in styrofoam containers and wrapped in foil. The crawfish étouffée was a sad, tomato colored watered down sludge pretending to be a meal. The menu has that they use sweet peppers. Well, I'm here to confirm there were no peppers, no onions, no seasoning, and certainly no soul. It tasted like someone stirred a powdered mix into water, panicked halfway through, and threw in a few spoonfuls of canned tomato sauce for color. The flavor was so off and strange. The mouth feel was horrible as it seemed to coat my tongue.
The “salad” was in a cup, which might’ve been cute if the portion wasn’t the size of a toddler’s snack and topped with a bunch of shredded cheese and no dressing whatsoever. So here's what added insult to injury, I paid extra for dressing. I even asked the guy who handed me my bag about it, and was confidently told it was in the bag. Spoiler...it wasn’t. So I have few pieces of lettuce way to much cheese and NO DRESSING at all.
And the bread… look, I said grilled, not cremated. I like my bread toasted, but this was a blackened brick of sorrow.
In short, nothing tasted right, nothing was prepared right, and apparently, no one cared. Gumbo Jeaux’s managed to turn one of Louisiana’s proudest dishes into cafeteria sludge. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. I had to go somewhere else to get lunch. I will not be back. A word to the wise is sufficient...with the rising price of every, don't throw the money away at this place.

The food was terrific, exactly what they advertise, but get your food to go. The restaurant facilities need a deep cleaning, tables were sticky, old ketchup bottles on the tables and the floors were treacherous. They would do well to hire wait staff to clean, then it would be a 5 star straight up.

Food was really good. We had fried shrimp, cajun breaded chicken breast, salad, and the exceptional red beans and rice. The mixed vegetables were passable.
Problems: They had zero knives available for diners to cut food with. Only a few drinks were offered, some canned drinks and no bottled water. Their chalkboard menu could really use a refresh.

Ordered take out. Doordash had a promo for a free dish if the order was <$25.
I had the Gumbo, Blackened pork chops, and a catfish dish.
The dirtyrice was a little disappointing, I expected more spice or intersting texture.
The pork chops were good, but again I expected more flavor/heat/spice from a creole/cajun restaurant. A bit dry as well, but that could be because of the takeout.
The catfish was cooked perfectly, tasted great, just uninspired seasoning really.
The Gumbo was phenomenal. Full of meat, flavorful, and the broth was awesome.
Polite staff, clean restaurant.
You can definitely tell inflation + tariffs have hit. Overpriced as hell.
Good food, underseasoned, overpriced. Get the Gumbo. 4/5 7/10

So let me start off by saying this place has a lot of potential to grow. So first they were out of Salmon and the dirty rice was hard so they replaced it with Mac and Cheese which was pretty good by the way. The gumbo was great however the shrimp poor-boy needs some work. Overall I give this place 6-10. Also the environment could use some better cleaning and restocking as well.
