Good food, just comical portion sizes. Also probably my fault but I ordered the miso thinking it was miso soup… most definitely not. Tbh prolly won’t go back bc the cost to size ratio. Maybe one day if I feel like spending a bunch of money. Idk my order was like $45 and I ate a snack after 😂

My husband and I have been coming to Hando regularly since first discovering it by accident on New Years Eve 2 years ago. We live about 30 minutes away but still manage to come once a week most weeks, either for dine-in or take out since we love the food so much, and the service is always kind and top notch.
I have food allergies and sensitivities (gluten specifically is the most challenging) and appreciate how seriously the staff at Hando take these things. Hunter, in particular, knows our typical order by heart and is aware of my allergies and has always taken great care to ensure that my order is correct and safe for me to eat. I’ve noticed that all staff remain attentive to this as well and always ask diners about food allergies and sensitivities. There is also a bartender, whose name currently escapes me but I have to mention because he is just so nice. Every time we see him, he greets us like we are old friends, even if he is just passing through the restaurant from the attached Kanpai Club. He also makes the best mocktails.
Our go-to’s (with a couple of mods for me) are the Ocean Trout roll, Brussel Sprouts, Yasai Roll, and my husband loves the veggie bao during happy hour! We also usually enjoy their monthly specials, which are inventive and tasty.
We truly love coming to Hando’s and haven’t gone to any other sushi places since discovering it! I will take this opportunity to add that if there’s one thing Hando could do to improve, that would be to make their King Crab roll a permanent addition to their menu. Whenever it’s a special, we always make sure to go multiple times just to have it!

I enjoyed Hando; the service was great and the weekday lunch menu is good and well priced. The handrolls were good, but not amazing. My favorite one was the hamachi roll, which was truly delicious. Fish quality in the salmon roll could have been better, it tasted a bit old (4/5 stars).

This was one of the first handroll bars in Houston. I am glad to see these growing in popularity. The quality is great here and service was relaxed and friendly.

The quality of the food was very good, but the portions were on the smaller side, so you’ll need to order a few dishes to feel satisfied. I would say this spot is better suited for a light, casual occasion rather than a full meal. I did have a bit of a hard time communicating with the person taking care of me, which made the experience a little awkward. The seating area is also quite tight, so you could end up sitting just a few inches away from someone at the next table. That said, I would still recommend the sashimi here since it was fresh and well-prepared.

The pork belly with pineapple is another must-try — tender, flavorful, and with just the right touch of sweetness from the pineapple.
