Stumbled on this restaurant on Google maps and I'm like what?! A Nigerian restaurant this good and I don't know about it? I know where wifey and I are going Friday night.
Just drove 40 minutes to the place, 10 of those on bumpy Briar Forest, only to find the place shut down by the city, likely over several months ago. The place looks drab and deserted. Either way I'm not checking back.
Unfortunately it’s closed. I live in neighborhood and go there often hoping to get food. Called number, no one answered the phone. Too bad.
This restaurant has in fact been closed since around May 2024. Anyone that has actually patronised this business, would know this, as it is never open. I was the only member of staff there and ran the place as well as cooking all the food and served. Anyone that has been here can attest to what I have said above. I was never paid for work, exploited till I refused to be intimated any longer. The restaurant was unable to function when I refused to work for free. The owner does in fact owe multiple people money in the hundreds of thousands which he refuses to pay back. The restaurant is non functioning and is being as front.
The review by perfect choice, Stephen Wengen Faithfuldrugged and Melinda Kambouris below are by the owner from different emails. He leaves fake reviews and asks other people to leave fake reviews that the place is open. He also reports 1 start reviews that tell the actual truth.
I would be very cautious doing any business here. The fake reviews and pretending a business is open, when it’s not, seems very dubious.
Attended the Yuletide event with teammate, food was spicy yet tasty. Impressive aura and decor, uncommon drinks. Demeanor of apparent operator and mixologist was one of servitude. Quite a memorable HTX experience.
Had a luncheon with colleagues. Uncommon cocktails and quaint aura to match. Attentive service by the operator. A must visit if I may suggest.
Visited HTX post Covid. Tried a few restaurants and noticed this under construction.
Stopped by with partner early 2024, was curious about cuisine. Oddly, the owner was serving. Food was indigenous and savory. Slight salinity, but nonetheless, unique and enjoyable.
Atmosphere was notably artful and esthetic. Enjoyed food as a chef myself and moreover the ambiance as artsy individuals. I approve. A tip to owner > Push, Stay driven / flourish regardless.
Closed - looks permanent.
Exceptional spot. Thriving regardless through all the “badgering” and bitterness. Yum!
You guys lie about your opening and closing hour
This is very annoying and bad…
Came during hours listed and they were closed.

Nice small place, fine african food, family style service, adequate prices. I could recommend to order dishes with a mild spices first time.

The food here is great, but they suck when it comes to delivery. Closing randomly, packing the wrong orders or sending the wrong food, etc. I don’t recommend trying to order it online, just drive to the location or go elsewhere.

Excellent beef suya sandwich and sweet potatoes fries, but pricy. Menu prices are not updated so look in the website for current prices. The difference is about $10. Gratuity of 20% is included even if you are only 1 person. I spent $39 for an excellent hamburger with sweet potatoes fries and 1 beer. ?, but only 1 person.
