My boyfriend and I booked this place for Valentine's Day at 6:00 pm and it seems like they triple booked for that time. The restaurant is rather small, so they asked us to all stand outside which would have been fine if it wasn't storming (we were under a covering but it was cold and windy so still got wet). After waiting over 30 minutes, we were seated, then another 20 minutes later they came by and gave us water where we then had to ask for a menu 10 minutes later. They were nice to give us a free round of drinks, and the food made up for the nearly hour of waiting around after our reservation time. The food was great, we ordered the tropical tuna (flavor was an 8/10, until we found a hair in it), trufflaluffagus (9/10), akami nigiri (8/10), masu nigiri (8/10), and lots of lychee martinis (10/10 lol). The staff seemed overwhelmed by the overbooked reservations and thats why the quality of this place fell; the food made up for it thankfully but don't recommend Himari for a special occasion maybe just a regular dinner stop instead.

I came here to blow time while my son was at soccer. I ordered an old fashioned which came out relatively quick maybe 10 mins or so. When I walked in, no one greeted me and the bartender tried to get the employees attention to help me as she did not speak English. She sat me outside, and I ordered a roll. The service was really slow just to get water. The couple that were seated in front of me left. I’m sure there is potential here when it is not busy, but it missed the mark for me regarding service. No one came out to ask how my drink or roll was. They were both good btw. I asked for the WiFi when I sat down and my server said she would find out. After I finished eating she asked if I still needed it.

Don't be intimidated by the size of this place; the food is incredible. The menu is diverse and offers fresh, delicious options at reasonable prices. I love the low lighting and lively atmosphere. The service was organized and attentive, and the food was once again amazing!

My best friend and I had a wonderful experience with our waitress Kylin and her service was impeccable! Everything we ordered was also top tier and came out in a very timely manner. We had several nigiri, the negitoro roll, the kushiyaki, the edamame, the trufflaluffagus and it’s hard for me to determine which dish was my favorite because they were all divine! 10/10 experience and will definitely be back

Absolutely the high quality sushi spot garden oaks needed! Bless the Aiko / Mustache group for this one. Ocean trout, Madi, o toro = all must haves. The only little thing I wish I could change about this place- and it’s totally personal- it’s right in front of a little park ish area? So def some kids involved lol
One of the best sushi lunch spots in town! Super fresh fish, beautifully plated, and great portion sizes. The lunch specials are a fantastic deal for the quality you get. Service was friendly and fast. Chefs engaged as well, great to see! Highly recommend the sashimi set and nigiri… will definitely be back!

Had lunch here and the food was great! Service was very personable and the atmosphere felt very welcoming. Did not have to wait for a table which was a plus. Parking was not an issue which can be a big factor in choosing restaurants here in Houston. Will definitely have to come back here for dinner!
