Hugo's has always had great quality. However, at this location, it is definitely dropping the ball.
Lack of personnel. Tables were dirty, and sections were closed to accommodate for the lack of people.
Of course, service is a complete tragedy.
The food is sloppy and very low quality.. almost embarrassing to the name.
Atmosphere very low morale. Stressed personnel, place is dirty all over.
The app does not work to take orders. Poor lady cannot memorize all orders and goes back and forth. Bringing the items from other guests.
Come on, Hugo.. please...you pay some attention here.
We are paying and expecting your high-level quality.
It's not my favorite anymore.

I walk past this place as they have dropped the ball in what is expected from Hugo’s. There is a major lack of attention and detail in the service and you can tell from the lack of management. It’s almost like they don’t care. They could borrow a page from Ruby’s diner at Bush when it comes to service.

Improbable quality/price ratio.
Exaggerated bill!
I won't go back
The worst thing about this restaurant is ZERO service, a waitress was going to sit me in more comfortable chairs for me. I'm 70 years old and she said no and after a while a couple came in and they sat there and she didn't say anything to them. That waitress discriminated against me. Well, we asked for water for me and my son never got the water until a man drank the Coca Cola and without a straw, I finally spoke to him with the straw.
I just carry a glass of water, what this discrimination is about. I do not accept it, it is a crime towards me at 70 years old, that is why I am making a complaint to the owner or the corporation and paying 50.dokares for something that is not worth it. Well, I NEVER RECOMMEND IT. IT IS A ZERO.
AND NOT A TIP DOES NOT DESERVE A PENNY
GOD BLESS YOU

The only thing I found leaving the Houston airport.
Their menu says cakes that are actually buns but the truth is they are very good, well served and accompanied by potatoes. Good option to eat something quick

If you’re ever flying out of Terminal D at IAH, you’re in for a treat! Hugo’s is hands down the best spot for food in the entire airport. Whether you’re in the mood for something light or hearty, their menu delivers top-notch quality and flavor that’s a cut above the usual airport fare.
I had the grilled chicken taco with corn tortilla and salsa, and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was perfectly cooked, the tortillas were fresh, and the salsa had just the right kick to tie it all together. It’s the kind of meal that makes you forget you’re in an airport and instead feels like a culinary escape.
On top of the amazing food, the service at Hugo’s is unmatched. Shaw, who took care of us, went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of perfect. He made sure we had everything we needed, helped us feel comfortable, and managed our time so we could enjoy our meal without the stress of rushing to our flight.
If you find yourself in Terminal D, don’t miss out on Hugo’s. Great food, exceptional service, and a dining experience you won’t forget—what more could you ask for?

I had higher expectations given the association with Hugo’s restaurant in Montrose. My wife had the Carnitas. The meat was barely lukewarm, and the rice and beans were cold. I had the enchiladas, they were warmer but not warm enough, and the rice/beans were also cold. The quesadilla appetizer was not very good, the cheese was not fully melted. My children had the taquito appetizer, I didn’t taste it but they didn’t complain. It seemed like everything on the menu was $20-$25, in my opinion it’s overpriced. I was hoping to have a decent meal but in the end I wished we had just gone for something cheap or eaten on the plane. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly so that’s a plus. I’ll add that there was free entertainment in watching one of the front staff have a small argument about the menu or some such with one of the cooks in the back. I would never come back.

The portions are small, the taste is passable, nothing extraordinary, a restaurant concept of only ordering everything once because they literally forget you and you struggle to order again, they have little contact with the customer, the tables are cleaned in sections, not when they are unoccupied, Unfortunately, there are only 2 options to eat in that terminal, eat before or in another terminal if you have time.

Stopped at Hugo’s first time but will never be back again. The food was okay but all the staff are overloaded and the attitude was not pleasant at all. Only order and pay via QR code, When I couldn’t connect to the eir payment portal I had to beg the staff to pay at the desk and was told ‘I am busy and just for future reference you better pay upfront’
